I gone through various hadith/Fiqa books and unable to find that if it is narrated by ibn Umar particularly about’… and this is the shooting of the devil; no-one will forget when he does this". I believe may be Ibn Umar said as a reminder so that a person may not forget. It is not a part of hadith mentioned in Sahih Muslim (his saying).

psyah, raising finger during tashahd is not mandatory…

Brother, raising finger during tashhahud is better than not raising at all. It is also considered essential element in any Salaat.

I don’t follow one. In the time of Muhammad (saww) everybody was just Muslim and nothing more. I don’t see why I should today be part of Hanafi of Shafií or whatever madhab, neither am I Sunni or Shia or whatever, I just see myself as Muslima and nothing more.

But then it does get difficult in issues like these, that’s true.

Any Fiqa either Hanafi, Shafii, Hanbali and Maliki is not some kind of new madhab but it is the extract of Sunnah which in fact, make us understand our religion and religious practices in better way. If you start reading any Fiqa book and then compare it with another Fiqa book, you’ll find there is no difference between them neither any Fiqa nullify another Fiqa i.e, teachings of Prophet Muhammad passed through “those everybody Muslims”, who were well known as "Companions r.a., of Prophet Muhammad ".

I think even when you follow a madhab, you still have to use your head and think. Islam encourages to think for ourselves. (one of the important lessons we learn from the story of Ibrahim (as) is that questioning and thinking about matters is better than blindly following other people - not counting prophet Mohammed (saww) of course - who could be wrong too)

Before my thinking was exactly same as you wrote above, and I agree with that we should use our head and think. But this kind of knowledge is black & white knowledge which is not even dangerous for us, but also for others in case if we pass such knowledge to them, which is in more cases “wrong”, and there will be great chances of getting astray from right path as well as misguidance to others.

For example: few years ago I passed interpretation of a hadith based on my own head and thinking. Brother Psyah realized me in very polite manner that my interpretation is wrong. When I studied again and done research on it, it was clear to me that I was wrong 101%. But the damage was already done. I passed that information to 1 person who might be passed to 10 persons and those 10 persons might be passed to 20 persons and so on. So basically, it all started by me and on the day of Judgement, I will be held responsible for misguiding of all those 20+ individuals.

Therefore, to understand our religion Islam in better way, we should read any Fiqa book. I recommend you to pick any Fiqa book and read it, then compare it with another Fiqa book. In case if a person don’t wish to read any Fiqa book then he/she may not pass his/her knowledge because it will be based on his/her own understanding and thinking which might be, precisely speaking certainly will be wrong.

Either a person speak good or keep silent at all.
