I can always count on ‘El Topo’ for that I really enjoyed the film. It does make you think.

Sure, how about a Film Noir thread? Or is that too much. How about we start with Begotten? Have you seen it? Its way out there. Ooh and Taxidermia! Dark humour, its such a great film.

Okay, sweet. I’ll set up a thread soon and we can work out some rules/criteria for adding the film onto the list.

Ha. El Topo’s defeat of the masters, and his subsequent remorse over the manner of his victories, is mainly why I heart Jodorowsky.

Taxidermia is so much fun in a really disgusting sort of way; the ending especially! You can’t really eat a meatball sub while watching it : D. And yeah, the dude getting his pecker pecked by the cockerel was hilarious.
Begotten, is messed up - I’m glad I watched it but I don’t think I would sit through it again. Only learnt about it because I liked the Shadow of the Vampire, which was by the same director.
Have you seen Un Chien Andalou? It was a Bunuel/Salvador Dali collaboration. I think Begotten was partly inspired by it.
Talking of movies that are different, what about Enter the Void?
