*ISLAMABAD: National Highways & Motorway Police foiled two attempts of robberies on GT Road in the area of Kamonke and Rahimyar Khan by prompt action and arrested three robbers and recovered 30 bore pistols & ammunition from their custody.
According to press release issued Saturday, Motorway police officers PO Muhammad Khadim and APO Ali Akbar on their routine duty in the area of Kamonke, saw a Honda 125 motorcycle No. GLA-8558 parked on hard shoulder and three persons were looting one Ateeq.
When the culprits saw motorway police officers they tried to escape but the through commando action of motorway police officers succeeded to arrest two persons Zamir Hussains and Babar Ali from Gujranwala and recovered 30 bore pistol with magazine,along with looted money and mobile phone.

im going to have to clarify, and reiterate. No one pays taxes. Personal ones. The government runs on imf handouts, revenues from public assets like the OGDC for example, and taxes automatically taken out of federal workers’ paychecks. The local governments of your cities, towns, villages and neighborhoods do not benefit from these RARE federal funds. When NO ONE pays taxes, these local governments cannot train, help, provide, sustain their local environments. Does this make sense? While I worked there, I was the only one i know that WILLINGLY paid taxes. I wasn’t rich, and I had a private business. But I did it. Everyone else laughed. Tell your father and mother to pay taxes. THAT is the core root of the economic problem in pakistan.

It is amazing to see how professional these motorway police guys are.
Many newly launched departments such as traffic police and services such as 1122 are also doing reasonably well, as AP also pointed out.
I firmly believe that if the politicians would stop interfering in normal Police affairs, it could also become a corruption free institution within few years time.

Impossible, They can not. They can not change themselves.
If some one need a change, It can be done gradually, You will have to create new departments of police at the patron of motorway police and traffic wardens. Like investigation deptt etc
There was a great experience last night .
I have told here in a thread that I am going to Lahore but I could not do in morning .
In evening My total disable son saw me wearing paint shirt , It was a sign that I am leaving city .
He immediately went in to fits (epilopsy)
We controlled that as our normal Technic .

My car also broke down on motorway once, and there was another car stopped only a few meters away. I was returning from Islamabad to Lahore and it was the last stretch between Shiekhupura and Lahore (between 10-15 kilometers to go). Anyways there was the calling booth a few meters away went there and called motorway police to send me their mobile workshop and then returned to the car. In the meanwhile a car of motorway police arrived, they asked me what was wrong, I told them and they exclaimed that the area is not safe thats why I should come in their car and that I should bring the valuables etc with me. I forgot one bag in the car, anyways I went to their car, and they went to the next interchange and returned. Those guys told me that the last 20 kms towards Lahore are so dangerous (Sheikhupura area) that they have 40 police vehicles in the area patrolling but still dacoities continue. Anyways when I returned to my car some one had broken the window and my bag was gone. It is not feasible to stop on the motorway other than emergency or the hotels that come on the way, preferable to drive in the daytime.

With an unruly, overgrown population like ours, the best way for the police to have success against criminal elements is to infiltrate their ranks, know things beforehand and strike before it happens.
Yeah, motorway police is perhaps the last institution that stands till now. But I am pretty sure, that keeping up the tradition of nepotism of his father-in-law, zardari would be busy placing incompetent people (from his areas of interior Sindh) with no experience into motorway police..... and soon we will have a crappy motorway police dept.
If anyone disagrees with me, just go to the biggest PIA reservation centre in your city and there you will observe these "guys" who stick out like a sore thumb and who don't even have the manners to speak.
