hmmm u knw pakiz go abroad to make money, they think of money at the time and dont think of the impact it has on future generations. Do u think ur grand-children are gonna lov pakistan the same way u do? My mum tells me I think completely like a gori, but then I ask her what can pakistan give me? even though I think of my self more pakistani then british, I dont really see anythnig to be proud of…
but by the tax point, majority of pakistanis in Pakistan cant ask that question either since the majority of Pakistanis dont pay taxes :D
PS: but they are still very proud and all MashaAllah..
Agreed. They cannot ask that question. Only 2.2 million Pakistanis pay their taxes and most of them are salaried individuals who have no option but to get taxes deducted.
Agreed. They cannot ask that question. Only 2.2 million Pakistanis pay their taxes and most of them are salaried individuals who have no option but to get taxes deducted.
And then we ask, what has Pakistan to offer?
and that is what brings the point, 2.2 million pakistanis pay taxesm out of how many?
yet we can question the patriotism of others, as if being born in pakistan makes someone autimatically patriotic.
actions speak louder than words, and one of teh basic things you do is pay taxes, it funds everything from education, health, infrastructure to defence (and seeing how much we just hate india and indians to be proud pakistanis..thats kinda stealing from the nation is it not)
as I say, actions speak louder than words. on this proud pakistani scale, I put Pakistanis in Pakistan who dont pay taxes at a lower rung than expats who are involved in political lobby groups and trade promotion groups, awareness organizations etc. They are doign something above and beyond what someone is asked to do, while the tax cheats are not even meeting their basic obligations to the nation and state.
because of business or investment income in pakistan?
I dont know if expats have to pay pakistani taxes.
I dont think they do except for pakistani income
well actually I was offended by ur post, I didn’t really feel the need to answer 2 u, as I ignored ur earlier comment. But wanted to clarify something,
I was talking about all pakistani parents. Are u telling me when they left pakistan they would of ever thought their children will become westernised? marry gore? get into drugs? Drink alcohol? smoke drugs? leave home? go to night clubs? disown their parents? answer back to parents? blah, blah, blah…
mayb im the only one who lives in the real world and sees all these things, becoz I seem to suprise alot of people on here:halo: Im sure if desi parents knew what they know now, they would never of come abroad! why did they come abroad to make money, unless u can tell me another reason…
We can be as much proud of pakistan as we like(of what? I am yet to find out), at the end of the day where all greedy for money and enjoy the benefits of living abroad. I have read people dissing western countries on this thread and in real life, and talk about how pure their country is. If u love ur mother land so much why dont ya go back and support ur country, earn ur small wage and live happily ever after…

Apart from that bold part....most of these things happen in pak nowdays anywayz..but i would say it depends where u liv in pak....so thats jus not the point
am sure if desi parents knew what they know now, they would never of come abroad!
Again you are wrong. Desi parents know what their children will be like (lets say 75%) after going abroad especially goin to uk, usa, europe etc. But yet they dont mind going there. Because they want, money, red passports, want to show off and what not.
And those who say they move out of pak because of secuirty issues, they are jus pathetic ppl coz on one hand those same ppl say "Joo hona hai woh ho kai rahe ga" meaning"Whatever has to happen will happen" and on the other hand they say..pak is not safe, lets jus move to another country. The truth is those parents jus want money, red passports, want to bash pakistan and god knows what more.
Another excuse they use is "Bachoon ki padahi" Education. Well i do agree in western countries u are likely to get better education, but the question is how many of those ppl who come from pak actually take advantage of this? I would say 30% only!!!
I still don’t get your point. There is nothing wrong with going abroad and striving for a better future. You make a choice on where and how you want to live and how you raise your children. Nothing about motives of going abroad is being discussed here. I said being patriotic has nothing to do with where you are or where you were born.
How do you know where I am and what I am doing for my country? Please do not make personal judgmental comments like that.
And FYI, all are not greedy for money. You are either too young or too naive to discover that.

Sorry but security is a real issue for many people, there are families who have been targeted, and yes jo hona hai woh hona hai, but that does not mean you dont do whatever is in your power to do what is best for you.
There are people who have left due to that, thats a fact
PS: red passports, so its only EU in the last umm like 15-16 years that we are talking about then? :)

Omair whether u admit it or not..what CE said above is right
Lets just agree all are not greedy..but dude trust me 90% of them are and those are the same ppl who live in western countries and bash pakistan.
Tell me one thing. How can you expect pakistan to progress if all the educated, good ppl, businessmen walk out from pakistan? How is the economy going to progress?
And all those who call themselves patriotic pakistani. Tell us one thing..how much have u guyz contributed to pak economy? Meaning how much of u used to pay tax? (those who used to lived in pak) and those who are still living there...How many of u pay? Or how many of you would pay if you had the choice?
I admit our Gov is corrupt and they dont invest the money they get but using this as an excuse of not paying tax is pathetic.

So if u are talking about security issues, tell me one thing are western countries any safer? Well apart from bombing, crime rates in some western countries are same as in pak if not higher.
PS: Whatever has to happen will happen, whether u liv in a western country or in pak or wherevevr.....jis tarah moot likhe hai woh aake rahee gai....

You are contradicting yourself. If 90% are greedy, then their decision to move out of Pakistan is right and you should not expect them to stay in Pakistan.
And I think we have discussed taxes.
The issue was simple. Indian government is trying hard to hurt Pakistan's economy and it was suggested by someone's friend to boycott Indian products in order to retaliate. No hatred, no bloodshed, no Pakistani resident, no ABCD issue here!

shaz, you should learn moe about the different conditions that have persisted in diff parts if pakistan at one time or another.
there were targeted killings of shia doctors. Now I know you are in UK. I dont think there have been major targeted killings of doctors of any sect or ethnicity there.
in karachi, the whole mqm issue, kids who got caught up in apmso slogans and mqm, were at one time or another target or state agencies or rival factions.
if you happened to live in any areas which these groups had a stronghold on, you pay protection money and if you dont, u could be kidnapped, properties burnt etc etc.
jis tarah maut likhi hai woh aaye gi, but that does not mean we dont take precautions, be at a safer place, avoid dangerous places or activities, or not seek best possible medical care when ill.
You are contradicting yourself. If 90% are greedy, then their decision to move out of Pakistan is right and you should not expect them to stay in Pakistan.
How am i contridicting myself? Yes those 90% are greedy and if they want to move than what can i say? I dont expect them to stay in pak...The only thing that pi$$es me off is when they come abroad and bash pakistan....
I do admit crimes happen in pakistan…loot maar etc. but dude trust me western countries are no different. Apart from the bombing thing…the crime level is same as pak. And talking about those killin doctors, and ethnicity, Tell me one thing how many of ur relatives have been targetted or killed in pak? (no offence meant). Every story have two sides.
I do agree…security might be an issue but everyone who seem to move out of pak use that excuse when the tuth is they leave pak coz of money, lalach etc etc (most of them)
