baloo-shai is orange in color, crispy, crusty like, kind of dry but sweet. and it is doughnut sized. its texture is more like pateesa - another one of my favorite mithai.
very tasty, but my rule for mithai is: one thing only at a given time, they are so rich other wise.

This is used and served as shadi ka laddoo cuz no one like to eat it full as if they eat Gulaab Jamun and cham cham and/or in some cases used as a name of a person ... Laddo...
If you like to have some real mithai, then try Gulab Jamun and Cham Cham...

-moti choor keye ludoo might be good.
-dushi i think granulated texture is due to when scattered flour is sauté in oil.
-but dushi balo shahi wat ATA gave is right. many ppl dont like them.
-gulab jamun, rasgullay, barfi, kalaqand, sohan halwa, rabri, jalabi, are good
but i found bengali methai n rasmali (home made not the bazaari one) are the best

there are two famous shops in Lahore....
one is while going towards Bano bazar ...a little bit from Gc and KE chowk...towards Circular Road..on left side near paisa Akhbar Street....
other is on Canteen Stop..near Punjab secretariat and MAO College with name Jalnadhar Moti Choor laddoo.....
cannot say..how they put the granules toghether....
i still dont know....how halwais...fill sheera ..or sugar water inside the tube of Jalaibi....can anyone tell me....:)

waisay from Bengali mithai, ever tried one? … eww forgot the name… its brown-rusty big paira type mithai, inside is some meva etc, and from outside it looks like bhalo shahi… ooh yaad aagaya name its called as bhujia or… :s
and also try Habshi Halwa…yumyum

waisay boondi ki kia baat hay, my bhaijaan say it Jalibi kay bachay when kids of family ask what it is
btw, try dipping jalebi in milk and leave it for 10-15 mints, then eat and drink… yummy
About Rabri, the best Rubri you can find is at Burns Road, Karachi…
