Culture team has discussed various traditions, customs, events in daily life of Pakistanis. The idea of thread is inspired by above news. I want to ask same question.
What is the most unique cultural tradition in Pakistan?
Did you read or find any unique custom or tradition here?
My friend's family play some kind of holi thing during mehndi. But it makes sense because she pointed out a famous historical Hindu figure as her ancestor. Don't know when the family converted to Islam.
My family has some weird rasm during weddings as well. The groom really gets stuffed into some strange outfits, the bride has specific jewellery and mehndi has some add on rasms.

I heard that this holi, antakshri things are getting popularity at many weddings in Pakistan. Reason: shadi ik dafa hoti hai, make it colorful.
When I describe Pakistan as a country, or traditions and superstitions we have, people from Maroc, Turkey, Algeria, etc. often say they have one or two similar traditions and habits. I'm not sure what really is just uniquely Pakistani. I do think that a mixture of having all these traditions, where other countries have only this one or that one similar like ours, is perhaps a unique Pakistani cultural tradition.
I'm not sure if any country really has something that is only part of the tradition of that country. Throughout the centuries we all touched each others cultures in one way or another, we all influenced each other, or we were one country and split up, so we have more countries with similar traditions.
It is a very interesting subject though. I'd love to find out if there still is one unique Pakistani tradition left, which is Pakistani only.

I can only think of negative unique, but may be they got counterpart in somewhere in world. Like Karo-Kari might got some other form of honor killing in some part of the world.
@Southie uncle... why you said 'Unique' Financial Nuggets?
There are always some pieces or nuggets of information in any field, including investment. When I started the thread, I wanted to present news that was unique - one of a kind. That provides special insight into what is happening. When I go back and read the posts, I find them useful. I tried not to include run of the mill garbage that gets peddled as news or investment suggestions.
so are there any traditions / customs, that are not run of the mill? After reading your post, I found that where you use unique with custom / tradition, it sounds redundant.
Haven't read this thread. The unique custom or tradition may appear redundant to the community following it. But to those on the outside looking in, such as tourists from another place, those same customs and traditions are unique!
