If he used force he didn’t succeed much there, as only 12 % of people in Karnataka are Muslims. You can subjugate and rule people but its not easy to convince them change their faith especially if that is being followed for thousands of years.

The people he converted were in kerala not karnataka. There is enough evidence based on letters written by his own hand.
