Another thing to think over is for all those who claim caste system mainly caused conversion, Punjab has the highest population of dailts in India (30% of the state). Looks like many of the dalits stay put and most of the converts were the casteless buddhists.

wait wait wait. In all religions like Islam and Judaism, we see people migrating towards other areas, if they are persecuted religiously. Why not Hindus being persecuted in some parts of India migrated towards say Lank, Nepal and Indian areas where Muslims don’t have influence/ Do we have some historical statistics for such migrations?
