most in pakistan are fine with taliban taking over in Afghanistan

Re: most in pakistan are fine with taliban taking over in Afghanistan

Captain1:

No. They have said that they will negotiate only with those people who are ready to give up fighting. In other words those who joined Taliban for various reasons besides ideological.

Now, please go and tell this to Taliban Khan as well. He also keeps repeating this same mantra as well.

Last month, U.S. Secretary of State Hillary Clinton seemed to recast preconditions for talks, describing in a speech insurgents’ laying down their weapons, accepting the Afghan Constitution and renouncing al-Qaida as “necessary outcomes.”

the US even divided them into good and the bad Taliban. Perhaps, the good were those Taliban who would have reconciled with US stay in Afghanistan, and bad ones were those who are fighting against the foreign occupation of their country by the US and Nato.

Re: most in pakistan are fine with taliban taking over in Afghanistan

Of course they will not say total Taliban power, would they? Just like they would like to say “good Taliban bad Taliban” :hehe:

Criminal is a criminal no matter what you call him, people are ready to kiss their behind so they get to run away with tails between legs.

You are the one who stalk Imran Khan so why don’t you tell him

Re: most in pakistan are fine with taliban taking over in Afghanistan

Can Pakistani army withdraw from Pakistan like in 2014 or some other date like the US?

Re: most in pakistan are fine with taliban taking over in Afghanistan

sirji, ok, so you’re saying all these coalition forces had 2,279(not sure that’s the exact number now) of their brave soldiers die in Afghanistan just so they could give total power back to the Taliban. hmmmm You tell me does this statement make sense to you? why would they do that???

Re: most in pakistan are fine with taliban taking over in Afghanistan

They came to Afghanistan showing bravado (revenge for 911 attacks) thinking their high-tech weaponry will overpower locals and then honey and milk will flow thru mountains of Afghanistan :)

Re: most in pakistan are fine with taliban taking over in Afghanistan

Why don't you tell this to Imran Taliban? Isn't he the one who wants to negotiate with these criminals?

Me stalking Imran? Isn't he a leader? Why are you so annoyed if his idiotic racist opinions are criticized? He will get the reaction if he wants to talk bulls**.

Re: most in pakistan are fine with taliban taking over in Afghanistan

Not that I'm saying US plans that right now (but who knows?) yet there is a precedent in the case of vietnam. All I've to say is that the ramifications would be ugly as vietnam wasn't a worldwide conflict.

Re: most in pakistan are fine with taliban taking over in Afghanistan

this is some news! wow! most people in Pakistan are ok about Taleban taking over Afghanistan? wow! how would they feel about Taleban taking over Pakistan? I am sure they won't like that! Why would they wish such a fate on their neighbors?

Re: most in pakistan are fine with taliban taking over in Afghanistan

You do know that taliban have support in southern and eastern afghanistan, right? I mean how would they survive that long in afghanistan?

I know you would say that are mobile anarchists, but why is the south much more of a mess than northern afghanistan?

Re: most in pakistan are fine with taliban taking over in Afghanistan

^ if yiu are asking me, my point was about most Pakistanis saying they don't mind having Taleban taking over Afghanistan. Why would someone wish that knowing what Taleban has done?

Re: most in pakistan are fine with taliban taking over in Afghanistan

Well it could be short sighted thinking but northern alliance is openly anti-Pakistan unlike taliban, though they nip at the roots of society. Balochistan has flared up right after 2001.

Re: most in pakistan are fine with taliban taking over in Afghanistan

i don't want to go back 10 yrs and discuss 9/11. a couple family friends have their sons in afghanistan, one father was never in favor of going into afghanistan, his son is in the US air force.

Can you concentrate on the present and try to stay on topic. forget your hate for US, think what will happen if the taliban were to take power in afghanistan, pakistan will also suffer, it would be naive to think it wouldn't if you had a little foresight

Re: most in pakistan are fine with taliban taking over in Afghanistan

So by that token, Pakistanis wouldn't have a problem with al-Qaeda as long as they're killing kaffir Americans, right?

Re: most in pakistan are fine with taliban taking over in Afghanistan

Would you also live with the notion that the Taliban would have no problem oppressing the Hazaras even more?

I asked many Taliban supporters on that but their hatred of Hazaras for being "treacherous" does not give me any sign of a logical answer to their support of oppression as long as it means imposing their version of Shariah.

Re: most in pakistan are fine with taliban taking over in Afghanistan

This whole thing is a mess. America has played bully for so long that another bully, more blunt, has risen up.

The people of Afghanistan have good reason to hate America AND the Russians since they both used Afghanistan in a proxy war, and left that country desolate and in the hands of the Taliban. Now, even though the Taliban are disgusting, people want to see America get theirs, in whatever way they can. That's probably why they're ok with the Taliban taking over.

Also, the Taliban have become a business. They extort local businesses. I read an article about an architect who was warned by the Taliban not to construct some bridge, he told them he had to but he would cut them in on the deal and then they could blow it up afterward. Problem solved. Not to mention the drug trafficking. We all want the war to end but guess what, some of the richest most powerful people in the world profit from war and they're going to keep this thing going for as long as they can.

Re: most in pakistan are fine with taliban taking over in Afghanistan

Events of 10 years back still affect today's world so why ignore what happened 10 years ago? I am still on topic, I don't hate US otherwise I won't be living here, try harder to find out what I don't like :). US only wants to fold its operations and minimize its credibility/losses so they will take any Taliban who will not use violence against US..... now go back 10 years ago, Taliban didn't use any violence against US to begin with it was US who did.

Re: most in pakistan are fine with taliban taking over in Afghanistan

Isn't afghanistan the "revenge" for 9/11? If not then seriously I would have to ask like a growing majority in the country that what is then?
