Most gravy job!

Re: Most gravy job!

I just got this gig at my school, where I'm suppose to be tutoring political science. I started working there about two months ago, only four students showed up during this entire time. All I do, is go to my job, and look priti...And the money is okay too...

Also, a while back I used to work at a jewelry store, I worked there for good 4-5 years, it was nice; very laid back. During weekdays it would be completely dead, and on weekends it would get busy"(which I didn't mind). All I used to do was surf the web... And the money was awesome.

Re: Most gravy job!

80 or 90 bux a week sounds like alot till you go into "THE" store and the price tag on the shirt you want is $45 or the pants $75!!!! And the SHOES fah-get-abou-dit! New Yawk is spensive!! But I must say I had lotsa sundaes, lotsa afternoon movies, nice clothes etc. for my friday eve "paper stuffing" and saturday morn deliveries!! Something I'll want my boys to do...not for the money but for the pride they'll have in earning these things for themselves.

Re: Most gravy job!

oh, ps....when you are a full-time student, you dont pay taxes...you are considered "exempt"...so there were no taxes deducted from my pay and I brought home much more than if, say, some older person had my job.

Re: Most gravy job!

That's still quite a lot! I make $6 an hour and i only work 9 hours a week. :(

Re: Most gravy job!

ts tsk sara.

Re: Most gravy job!

Money or no money …paper route is not a gravy job. It is one tough job, specially if you are an adult.

Re: Most gravy job!

I was the 'AV Guy' in my uni. AV stood for 'Audio Video'. Basically, I would clock in, flirt around with other female student coworkers, sit on boss's chair and talk on the phone. I also made amateur videos and movies, I did the camera work while another Chilean guy was the director and the cast included all that were clocked in for work. The boss was really cool and hip dude and told us that our main purpose is to study. He would even clock me in and out while I stayed home at times. I still keep in touch with him. He was quite young and looked like a Rock artist.

Oh and we had chess, playing cards and monopoly in the 'employees room'. I also introduced them to carem board and they thought it was really cool...specially the girls. Man, I used to be kool too back then.

Oh the job was mainly dragging a projector on a cart and those big ass wheels of films to a class, plug it in, start the roll and leave. When the class was over, we would go and pick up the stuff and roll it back. We always worked in pairs. On the way and back we would make stops in library, cafeteria, play a quick game of ping pong, check out girls in the pool area and if the class was empty play chalk fights...all that while getting paid $4.75 an hour. Can't beat that. I am thinking of doing the same job when I retire.

Re: Most gravy job!

The most gravy job is held by Azkar. He does not do anything. Just take a look, he promised upload to be fixed in a month...its almost two months now and there is no ETF (Estimated Time for Fix). He is one lazy person.

Re: Most gravy job!

Few months ago, my boss told me that i should stop micro managing, and start delegating more.

now i make a list of things to do for everyone in the morning. and thats it,

pay is still the same. all i do is make some calls and go to meetings.

Re: Most gravy job!

The only downside is theres no benefits like sick pay or pension scheme so I'll have to think about moving on sometime if I want those benefits. But for now it suits me fine!! :)

Re: Most gravy job!

Re: Most gravy job!

Back in 1997 i tutored one of my mother's friend's kid. I taught (or was supposed to anyway) him O'Level Math Physics and Chemistry. He was a smart kid so he didnt have to study alot but his mother was pretty paranoid so paying extra for his education gave her some sort of relief.

1000 rupees a month. Not bad for a 17 year old considering all we did was play video games on my Sega MegaDrive. I did however teach him all the death moves in Mortal Kombat.

At university a few years ago i worked for a professor in the Chemical Engineering dept. My job was to shoot videos, transfer them to the computer and prepare them for inclass presentations. I had access to all the electronic gizmos owned by the dept including projectors digital cameras camcorders etc. I had to make videos of experiements which had to be done in the chem engineering students' (girl-guy ratio 8:2) lab hour. 10 hours a week on the job, 20 on paper. $13/hour. Fun.

Sincerely,
Captain Lota
