I would like to know about the most gravy job that you have ever had!
The kinds of jobs where it is relaxing, pays well (or not) , no preassure, can come and go as you please.
Also tell me where I can apply for one.

Re: Most gravy job!
as a researcher in a lab associated with america's space agency, i've been used to coming in to work once every week or so (although that has sometimes stretched till 5 am), sometimes not showing up for meetings and then saying I had a toothache (or whichever ache came to mind), getting deadlines to do an afternoon's work in three weeks, and then getting an extension on it along with encouragement for all the hard work i've put in, writing research papers on two or three afternoon's work and then getting the world's best in my field to gather round and hear about it, sleep all day and wear what you were just lounging around in to work.
paid okay, not very high, but not that low, in addition to paying for my tuition to one of the most expensive schools in amreeka.

Re: Most gravy job!
I used to work at this community theatre from the age of 16-21. I started off as an usher and then worked in the box office.
It was a "gravy job" because:
I got free tickets to concerts, plays ... nobody famous, but sometimes, there would be really good shows like Second City and a few other comedy acts;
I would take my homework there everyday and complete it during work cause I would have nothing to do other than sit at a computer and answer calls/deal with customers when they would come to the window; and
I would leave early all the time and never got in trouble/pay cut for it. Actually, I still do that ... and I have been extremely lucky to be getting away with it thus far. :D
Re: Most gravy job!
well if you're looking for serious replies, I had 2 jobs that were just gravy...
first was a paper route...I delivered Pennysaver newspapers and flyers to 240 houses in my area each Saturday morn. I did this from age 14 to age 15...and it wasnt alot of money in the REAL sense but to a kid that age, me goodness I was rich!
the other was trading floor tech support for foreign exchange traders. I worked from 4 am till 12 noon. It was beautiful ... since it was off-shift, I got car mileage and parking paid by the comany. I got to see the sun rise each morning, Fulton Fish market bustling with activity like a carnival. Then I had from noon onwards to myself. And these hard core, high-earning, nasty trader-types truly appreciated all that I did for them.
Re: Most gravy job!
How much did u make with the paper route?
Re: Most gravy job!
wow Ms Sara, It was longer ago than I care to remember! But I'm thinking it was somewhere around 80 or 90 dollars a week, something like 1/2 of a penny for each Pennysaver and 1/4 of a penny for each insert...I had to fold each paper and its inserts and put each in a plastic bag. Anyway, it was SOOO much money for a 14 year old, I got to buy shoes and things, pay for my friends to go to movies with me or take them to Friendly's for HUUUUGGE ice cream sundaes.....heaven!!
Re: Most gravy job!
