I see your point and it makes sense, as long as you are getting the fee paid credit card from a company that does not have ANY significant ‘interest based’ revenue ie it survives predominantly without any form of interest earning operations.
But that also wouldn’t solve the problem of huge chunks of people - for example a majority of retirees rely either directly on interest from investments or indirectly through outer fixed return things that in turn earn interest. What will they do if interest is not allowed?
you may say let the community (ie government) or children take care of them - that would turn all economies into socialistic or even near-communistic ones;or lead to severe family complications.
My opinion is, banning interest is only possible if you are able to adopt all the ways of living of the 6th century - where mobility for the sake of work was restricted, no globalization so that children lived all in a limited location and could take care of parents
