I hate the idiots who contribute to enhance the already set, negative image of Islam. The current example is that jerk diplomat from Qatar who, while on his way to meet an Al-Qaida prisoner in Denver, not only decided to smoke a cigarette in the airplane lavatory (already a federal offense) but joke about trying to light his shoes on fire, causing a stir in US homeland security.
I really want to know that who died and made that moron, a diplomat.
I am glad that he is getting kicked out of this country. We have enough of such idiots roaming around in this country. One less is a good news for the Muslim community of West.
Quick question. When an American diplomat kills a child in Sudan in an episode of Drunk driving does that mean he is providing a negative image of Christianity and the pope?
I dont know the answer to your question, but under the current global atmosphere, where any and every act of any Muslim gets linked to Islam, a middle eastern diplomat should be more careful than this. His act was not just childish, its embarassing.

This thread is not about putting down Islam or Muslims. Alhamduliilah I am one and proud of it. Point is, being a Muslim, I need to be extra extra careful in this day and age. Islamists mostly are equated with terrorism.
However
Islamism is also linked with tribalism.
Many people get offended in the name of tribal thinking. But it is really really simple.
Tribal people do not care about following the rules and laws. For them these man-made rules are just a joke.
And this guy from Qatar and many others from the Middle East and even in Pakistan have tribal mindset when it comes to the life in 21st century.
So if you do not like the term "Islamists",
at least change to the Tribals or Middle Eastern tribals.
Because the term Muslims grabs everyone in this thread even when majority of Muslims are civilized and not tribal.
