Re: Morning Sickness
It is safe for you to travel.
The concern is only the fact that you’re having trouble eating.
I had pretty bad sickness too, especially in the evenings. I could not drink water really at all, but whenever I did manage it helped if it was ice cold. And most of the time I just ate melons of different kinds. Soda made it worse because of the constant need to burp. i also used to carry a little bag of HoneyNut Cheerios with me. I was able to munch on those, and they were healthier than crackers. It’s important to have something in your tummy to keep the nausea down. Even if it’s just a little.
I used those accupressure wrist bands my hubby picked up from CVS. I thought they worked on me, tho maybe it was all in my head.
Best wishes. I know it’s rough. ![]()

Re: Morning Sickness
I know its hard - I had bad morning sickness too, like Sahar cheerios were my friend.
For me eating a banana helped but that might just be what worked for me. It sucks but you'll figure out what works for you. A lot of it is trial and error.
Just be aware to get enough fluids - dehydration is a big problem with bad morning sickness, its best to call your doctor if you're concerned.

Re: Morning Sickness
Also, the thing to remember is that this stage is TEMPORARY!
I really didn't believe that I would ever be able to eat again. But just wait a few weeks and you will feel much better, inshAllah.
Re: Morning Sickness
you have my sympathies! ginger candies help, more so than ginger ale. also, in canada, you can be prescribed a medication called Diclectin which is safe to take during pregnancy- not sure if its available in the US- but it saved my sanity. my OB also said if it gets bad, you can take Gravol but double check that with your doctor first to be sure. other than that, you just have to ride it out. hug its temporary!! this will pass.
Re: Morning Sickness
sgc, do I hear good news ? :)
Ginger candies is the only thing that helped and believe me I have tried every single thing in this thread even the seabands.
when it was bad, all I was having was apples and water ... but did I try to eat a some bits when things were not that bad.
hope it will get better soon.
Re: Morning Sickness
Just the advice everybody else has said I'm afraid, hang in there it will pass.
Like Sahar said a lot of people use the travel sickness bands that work on pressure points- Good luck!
SGC: have you got some fab news for us?? if so Hope all is well!! xxxx

With my pregnancy Ice cold milk!!! I could hardly eat one piece of bread, food made me sick... so milk.. for me milk was solution to morning sickness..
abt travelling I thinks its save up to 7 months of pregnancy..
Re: Morning Sickness
I had morning sickness up to 17 weeks. It literally took over my life. I tried everything to cure it even hypnotherapy which cost me an arm and leg, except I was so desperate. That just relaxed me but didn't cure my nausea or sickness. You just have to bare it really somehow and I pray your pregnancy gets easier, Inshallah.
But one of my midwives told me that having morning sickness was a good sign and that my baby would survive. Don't know if that is an old wives tale though but that was positive news to hear!!
I would just keep eating light snacks e.g crackers, carrots or celery dipped in humous and fresh fruits chopped up etc. Just eat whatever you crave for.
Re: Morning Sickness
Saadia and Saheli :D
Chicken corn soup is the only thing I can keep down, oddly enough. That, and cold milk, and slices of white bread with peanut butter. In the beginning it was apples for their crisp, non smelly feel and taste. Then I graduated to khichri and dahi. Now its the soup. My sense of smell is haywire and that's causing the most havoc.
Brain, I know how you feel- sometimes you feel sub-human because all of a sudden something that's only about 4 cms is bossing your system around so much-- I have spent a lot of time just weeping on my sofa (and the hormones don't help!) :p
So if crying makes you feel better, do it!
The best advice I can give you is listen to your body. If it doesn't want something or if it does want something, just eat it. At this stage, don't even think twice.
Re: Morning Sickness
^- yay congrats :=)
Re: Morning Sickness
SCG Congratulations !!!!
Re: Morning Sickness
Congratulations SGC!!! That's great news! How far along are you! For the others there are certain medications that are safe to take during pregnancy for nausea. Your Ob should be able to guide you. I took thes eduring my own pregnnacies.
Re: Morning Sickness
Congrats SGC! Many prayers for you! ![]()

Congrats SGC! prayers your way! =)
Afshi, that happened to a friend of mine as well during her 14th week....InshaAllah she'll be fine...
Re: Morning Sickness
Thank you, ladies! :) I'm 12 weeks along and no signs of the m/s letting up. Oh well. Soon, right?
Afshi, I hope your relative is ok! I do know its quite common to end up on a drip while pregnant with severe m/s so iA everything will work out ok for her.
