Re: More than 130 people killed in Karachi during the past two weeks
Didn't Altaf Hussein also say something like that?
And you HAD to bring MQM into this!
Can we really talk about law and order situation in Karachi without mentioning MQM? :@:
Re: More than 130 people killed in Karachi during the past two weeks
So a planned firing occurred on one of the political parties bus.
And the business of killing people escalated.
And blame game restarted too.
By the way: These events always have some forces who do not like Pakistan or its cities being peaceful.
Also these forces kill innocent people (indiscriminate act) and those who are religious minded.
Re: More than 130 people killed in Karachi during the past two weeks
Anyone willing to pay a few thousands dollars on monthly basis can bring Karachi to its knees. Just how cheap and simple.

You are right . I saw it many time . I saw first time in 1977 .
Karachi was used against Bhutto .
(Dollars were cheaper in open market than the official rate)
Karachi was the city of most peaceful and country loving people . It was pushed first time in ethnic hating by an attack on Lalukhet after defeat of Ayoub Khan from Karachi in 65 elections , supervised by Gohar Ayoub Khan .
We have a very sad history of foolish acts .
Re: More than 130 people killed in Karachi during the past two weeks
I am sorry and I apologize in advance to a poster here but I am posting this to show the system of organized killing . Must read this news .
Eye witness in Wali’s case gunned down
Remember most of the police officers who took part in 92 operation are already killed .

Yes but very sad fact.
The 'law enforcing' agencies do have to be corrupt to let this happen.
Re: More than 130 people killed in Karachi during the past two weeks
so any deo-bandi madrassa is an SSP affiliated madrassa?
I don't think that random madrassas are being attacked, the attackers well know what the targets are.
Re: More than 130 people killed in Karachi during the past two weeks
It is beyond belief how some unknown people just appear from nowhere, murder dozens daly and disappear? What kind of government do we have where life is so cheap that no one even blinks at the death of dozens in a single city?
Whose job is it protect citizens?
Where is MQM and it's dramaybazi? Before referendum about Taliban or Quaid ka Pakistan, they should really do something better to control this since they are the BIGGEST stakeholders and also part of government.
Re: More than 130 people killed in Karachi during the past two weeks
The only witness in Wali Khan Babar’s murder gunned down.

Re: More than 130 people killed in Karachi during the past two weeks
You asked a question but answered as if it is MQM job to protect citizens? ![]()
Part of Govt. does not mean they have full power to appoint law enforcing agents.
Re: More than 130 people killed in Karachi during the past two weeks
I dont see any good times soon, both sids beefed up, around 2/3 people of ahlesunnat wal jamaat (SSP) killed each day, and media is not doing its part. See death of every ahl tashee is highlighted in a certain fashion just to make situation worst.
See ummat for example which is a local usdu paper and unlike english news papers do not work on foriegn agenda.
Daily Publications | Daily Ummat Karachi provides latest news in urdu language.
Ahl e tashee killed by Liyari ganag war, Mutaihida or by jhangvi are portrayed as attack on shias, where as even sunni scholar are not shown as SSP scholar, which moulana haroon was.
This just shows what future holds for people at karachi.
Just pray that sanity prevails and terrorist from either sides be given due punishment.

Sorry if i was expecting MQM to protect being biggest party in Karachi and part of government. I forgot that they are part of the problems themselves so there is no chance they will ever try to resolve it.
Just for interest, who has full power to appoint law enforcing agents there?

Re: More than 130 people killed in Karachi during the past two weeks
That is only partly true, sometimes the acts are carried out to incite the war knowing what is a ‘deo-bandi’ institute and what is ahle-tashee imam-bargah.
MQM does not have to “protect” citizens, only if they can stop “protecting” their criminals from being arrested that should help in long way.
Re: More than 130 people killed in Karachi during the past two weeks
Keeping militant wings in political parties has become a norm in Karachi. No party acknowledges having militants under their wings, but the SOP in Sindh is an open secret. If law enforcers can pick, kill and dump 'insurgents' in Balochistan in the name of national security, why not same policy is employed in Karachi? The joint investigation report submmited before the SC in Karachi law & order case shows that the military establishment, especially the ISI, has lots of information about who is who in Karachi.

MQM bus was fired upon remember?
Please read below for the answer from EyEsOnSkY.
CM sindh.
Definitely.
Govt. has full responsibility of maintaining the law and order. These people are paid for by the Tax money.
Also Govt. has the responsibility of finding and punishing the culprits.
.. MQM does not have to "protect" citizens, only if they can stop "protecting" their criminals from being arrested that should help in long way.
Any criminal either from inside or outside needs to be caught. Why even let anyone go based on connection to any party to begin with?
**
After all, the law needs to be above politics.**
