I wonder what they would say to the police if they really did call. “oh yeah we’re trying to forcefully marry off our daughter to some guy back home. A daughter who is an adult and perfectly capable of making her own decisions but how could she have the audacity to refuse our decisions on how she should lead the rest of her life..”
This could backfire on them.

They did all the prep for my other cousin not me. They planned the trip to go - I already had said no and they said we will go anyway - today they asked me again and I said no - so they have decided to cancel the tickets.

I don't know why - as they were all for it - even though i already said no.

They're mad because Im sure they were planning on convincing you once you got there and putting on some sort of show. But since you're not going, they're naak is now katting because they will not be able to keep their word anymore. Thats how this little act usually plays out.

Im glad you're doing this PO...parents need to be taught sometimes too...and there is nothing wrong with us teaching them these things in the most respectful way possible.

sorry but been there done that and therefore very sceptical...

and ever since I posten my own story in your other post I have just been so emotional!!being pregnant and sharing all those details didnt come along very well...

dont ever make anyone put you in such a situation!! keep fighting and look for options outside the house..good luck with your job hunt:)

LMAO!! Ah zaboo and his mom. Now that is a mommy boy if anything :smiley: Sahar I suggest you watch the entire 5 seasons and then make your judgement. It gets better and the production value increases as well. However if you do not game you won’t get a good 70% of the jokes.

Them throwing a tantrum like this would make me think just how much extra pressure there would have been had u gone to Pakistan.. Imo they wouldn’t have accepted a ‘no’ from u once u were over there at all..

Agree with Sahar, the best thing to do would be to try and become independent from them :k:

There's a fifth season now? I'll have to check it out. I liked the first 3 better than the fourth. I was part of a clan once too back in the day. Very few people got involved as deep into it as these guys.

hey dont worry. u've got enough on ur mind :)

y dont you give a call to PIA or whatever airline u were supposed to travel with and check the status of ur booking. that way u will know for sure whats going on. and dont call any local trvael agency run by someone who happens to know ur parents and tell them this afterwards..call the headoffice of the airline.

u need to find a way to get out of the house..otherwise u r gonna go crazy....telll them u have joined a course on jobsearch and go out everyday and do relaxing stuff....

their behaviour only shows what u could expect in Pakistan if u had gone...I am so happy that you are not going!!!!

btw just ignore their comments to ibadah. u r praying for Allah and not for them. if they knew what Allah commands they wud never force u anyways!!! I was also told this but Alhamdulillah all my ibadah and prayers have helped and I am in a position today that tells them what I really wanted in life and how hard work and persistency paid off.

just be strong and set some goals for urself..dont let anyone ruin ur goals and development cuz they wanted to see u married with a 6 year younger illiterate cousin!!!

Hey - well I found out they still haven't cancelled the tickets....! So yeah. And they are being strangely nice to me..... Like really nice.
