More censorship from the world's largest democracy....

BBC - Soutik Biswas’s India: What’s love got to do with it?

Now I realise why the Radcliffe award and the whole Mountbatten thing played out in India’s favour. He was banging the Mrs.

Re: More censorship from the world's largest democracy....

CM will have to take sleeping pills if this site bans india bashing threads.....

indian news papers have not given much space to this news, because this revelation does not attract the indian reader anymore....

Re: More censorship from the world's largest democracy....

The Indian reader has nothing to do with actions taken by the government. Why is the government censoring a movie about what happened 62 years ago? Its freaking retarded.

Re: More censorship from the world's largest democracy....

India is not the only country in the world.... almost all topics in world affairs is about India... haha... who is fixated... by the way is there any indian forums similar to paklinks...

Re: More censorship from the world's largest democracy....

The Govt here is just counscious to safegaurd the statesmanship/ image of Nehru......we are not americans or westerners...

a lot of books are written on the intimate relationships of nehru and gandhi' life at old age is alo exposed and not a single book is banned....but film creats more controversy...

but for cm it is difficult to understand..

Re: More censorship from the world's largest democracy....

No what I find it difficult to understand is why a democracy would sensor the words "Love" 6 bloody times in a movie.

Most modern day Bollywood movies would classify as soft porn!

Re: More censorship from the world's largest democracy....

^^

If you fail to understand why debate about it.

Re: More censorship from the world's largest democracy....

Hey you are back. Wanna start up that Kashmir thread again? I am still waiting for your response.

Re: More censorship from the world's largest democracy....

No need to investigate the personal life of statemen.
Your jinnah's daughter is in India mind you.

Re: More censorship from the world's largest democracy....

^^

Please read my post again. This might clear your mind. If you still require a response, go and read your posts again. You might understand. I know I am asking too much from you(your brain). But then, you could still try.

Re: More censorship from the world's largest democracy....

It's really stupid on the part of indian government to ban anything like this. Hope they get more matured.

ok

Re: More censorship from the world's largest democracy....

Aise to bahhut saare films bane hai.Should you give importance to them?in films the facts are tweaked to make the stories more appealing.

If you say so then there can be many bollywood films which throw light into issues like kashmir

Re: More censorship from the world's largest democracy....

i could not find cd/dvd of film based on jinahh' life...'Jinnah'.....would like to know if it was exposed in the movie that Jinnah was very fond of pork, sausages etc.

Re: More censorship from the world's largest democracy....

There are two movies on Jinnah. And you know the best part? We didn't censor any of it!

my question was a little different....

Re: More censorship from the world's largest democracy....

No your question was factually incorrect.

But U banned a book on Jinnah just because it spoke of his fondness about pork and wine. First U tried to cencor it, when the writer said NO, than U banned it in Pakistan. Tell me if I m wrong.

Re: More censorship from the world's largest democracy....

they contradict their statements

You can breathe easy now … the film has been cleared by the “censors”

Nehru-Mountbatten affair cleared by the Government of India

Now will you mind telling us why Pakistan government withdrew funding for Jinnah movie
