Re: moral code imposers
people need to come down from their moral high horse. And usually, the more someone judges, the more flaws they have themselves.
Re: moral code imposers
^So true..
Re: moral code imposers
and these people themselves are actually sneaky and rigid in their views. but tend to have a say on what others are up to..
“Before you judge me, make sure you are perfect.”
Re: moral code imposers
i know this mentality exists in all cultures and countries, but it seems more common within ours. we discuss other peoples morals alot more than any other subject.
Re: moral code imposers
see what you have done here. people could not help but judge others ![]()
Re: moral code imposers
what do you mean by ‘imposers’? If its merely discussions and debate, its not really imposition.
Talibans are another ballgame altogether.
Re: moral code imposers
Agree.. It’s ironic how a non-hijabi girl in our culture who doesn’t cover can attack someone else for basically doing the same thing in a slightly different way lol.. The nastiest and b*tchiest comments online when it comes to how women ‘behave’ often seem to come from Pakistanis (and that includes our girls as well as guys).. If there was a version of something like the Shahs of Sunset featuring Pakistanis rather than Persians the women probably would have gotten threats everyday for the way they dress and drink..
Re: moral code imposers
I’d advice to hang out with non-pakistanis more. Nit just with that one whatever nationality friend you have that is super openminded.
‘You’ is used in a general context and doesn’t refer to anyone specifically.
Re: moral code imposers
agreed. it seems like people from our culture have this strong desire to tell others they are wrong when it comes to anything going against their view of religion. how is it anyone’s business how someone else lives their lives?
i get told so many times that my marriage is wrong because my husband is not a muslim, but the people who criticize are never perfect muslims themselves either.
Re: moral code imposers
…
Re: moral code imposers
You never experienced this with other cultures? Gorays per example?
Re: moral code imposers
Kumbh k mailay ki bichri twin behnain..
Re: moral code imposers
ofcourse I have. and i mentioned, it exists in every culture. all I said was that it seems to be a bit MORE in ours than others.

Guys stop ignoring pwner. He’s trying so hard to get in the conversation. ![]()
Re: moral code imposers
LOL
funnily enough, what prompted me to open this thread was due to something a very white acquaintance of mine did.
keep your condescending advice to yourself.
Re: moral code imposers
I am relieved you can feel my pain. I am sure, OP appreciates your input too.
Re: moral code imposers
Bella, id say its in different segments of all cultures…but pakistanis arent into the whole reflect upon your own actions game.. but i guess other people arejt either
we can put all these people under one group, but not under one culture
Re: moral code imposers
What exactly is the purpose here, OP? Is it to say that “others” judge while I am above judging and never engage in the act?
Sometimes those who judge and can admit to judging are less annoying than those who think they’re never engage in the act. It’s because the latter won’t be aware that they’re making judgments. It’s an innate behavior in all of us. Many times in order to redirect your thinking in a more open-minded state, you have to push the judgments or preconceived notions out of your mind. It requires a conscious effort.
Re: moral code imposers
My comment was intended for comments that imply that it happens more in our culture and we are best at it. I didn’t mean you by all means.
And there is nothing condescending about my comment. It is a fact that some people think that this behavior is more prevalent among desis. Prove is within this thread.
