Re: Mops ..
it was on sale at Canadian Tire, if I remember correctly. But I actually went to Walmart and bought it since they price match, and their return policy is a whole lot better :D
Water diluted with Dettol and then pocha, desi style.
I still do this for the kitchen and the bathrooms.....on my hands and knees. I just don't feel that the mops totally clean the nooks and corners. And they certainly don't clean the baseboards. But with a towel and my hands.....I can get to each and every little spot.

Muzna
… I find pocha style so so difficult to manage  … but i remember my mom used to put a soaked and drenched kapra on the viper and then would take it all around the house … that was such an ease and really goes into every corner too …
We dont have vipers here in england , otherwise i would have done the same ![]()
Re: Mops ..
For those stuck in stone ages like myself and for the great good of humanity ...I had to write a review on my recently acquired steam mop.
Like many desi moms, mine is boderline ocd...Floor cleaning entailed...pocha with some floor cleaning product, followed by pocha 2 times with water.... This would drive me insane because we have a big house (mA) with big kitchen/foyer which are porcelain tiled, and rest is all hardwood floor - family room/living room/dining/library/bedrooms etc. This can easily take half of my day, not to mention how tiring it is being on all fours. We've tried the swiffer in the past, but you constantly need to buy their spray and pads. Other supermarket mops that need bucket and water and all that squeezing action, not my thing.
So after much research, we bought the Haan SI-60, which is actually an improved version of the much raved about Haan SI-30. The SI-60 has a swivel head, and a longer power cord, comes with 2 reusable pads which you can handwash with mild detergent, and air dry, or pop in the washer and dryer. It is AMAZING guys. I mean to the point that I will have to read shukrane ke nafal. You have to sweep first, to remove hair and coarse gunk, and then just steam mop effortlessly. It leaves no residue, dries within seconds, and leaves your floor spotless, you can almost eat off it. I was a bit afraid about using it on hardwood floor but really it leaves no watery residue, it's dry immediately after, and I haven't read any negative reviews on people using it on hardwood floors. It's the next best thing after sliced bread. We also purchased 4 extra reusable pads, given that we have a larger space to work with.
