i hate mops too CB. they're gross. yuck!
i recently invested in (well, my mom bought it for me as an anniversary gift :p) a steam mop. it's called the H2O mop. not too sure if it's available in the UK, though.
but it's seriously awesome. it uses water, and steams up that water to clean your floor. so there's no yucky leftover, or dirt left in the corners. and once you're done, just take off the cloth the cleans the floor, and wash it out. no need to spend more money on replacement covers either!
i think it works great! anyone else have a chance to use it?
smilestar , that thing , i saw on telemarketing channels … and so wanted to get one .. and then totally forgot about it … i will dig it up yet again , its an awesome thing …
^ yeah, i'd go for one CB. you don't even have to buy it off the TV channels anymore. they should be available at like your local housewares stores. a lot cheaper too!
I recently bought a Shark steam mop and absolutely love it! The awesome thing is that i dont have to rebuying the mop pads. It came with 5 of those and you just toss them in the washer when done cleaning.
Oh wow, so these H2O and Shark steam mops really work? I read some reviews that said they were useless as they just make the floor wet. So who who has actually used them? And on what kind of floors? Please do tell.
I have tiled floor in my kitchen and it gets so dirty, I'm spending quite a bit on swiffer's refills right now :( I use 2 of them for one cleaning.
oh can i use it on wood floor as it says to ask the wood floor manufaturer. it depends
i wouldn't use any kind of steam/water on my hardwood floors. it will cause 'bubbles' to appear in the hardwood. especially when the water takes a while to dry.
if you want, what you can do is use the steam mop, but then you need to dry it off immediately. just as long as the water doesn't sit on the hardwood.

i have tiles in certain areas of my condo, and the h20 mop works great on it! it cleans really well in between the tiles too.
it does leave your floor wet, a mop would do the same, but it only takes about 20 seconds or so for it to dry out. just make sure the kids or hubby aren't walking around while you're cleaning the floor :D
you can use it on vinyl flooring as well. there shouldn't be a problem in that.
Shark steam mop does not leave wet floors, its dry within 5 secs or so, i think. It does leave streaks on the floor but i dont care about it as much. I bought it mainly to us e on my hardwood.
