Which one do you follow and why?

I am not opposed to using calculations for the purpose of moon sighting.
But, why use a methodology that is so blatantly incorrect?
ISNA has already declared 1st Ramadan as July 9th and Eid as August 8th.
ISNA Announces Ramadan Dates - ISNA
Look at the visibility curves for these dates and you can see that there is no possibility of sighting the moon on the evenings previous to these dates.

I follow the mosque near my house and its following ISNA. So its Ramadan 1st for us today…

Saudi has done it correctly this time after doing it wrongly for so many years. Perhaps a sign for good things to come inshaAllah.

i follow moon sighting because i go with the decisions of the imaam of the local masjid…i believe in the unity of the local community.
Same here..first roza today based on ISNA & Fiqh Council of North America. That’s how my family had done it for the past 35 years…every year it’s a mess and this debate comes up.

Our first one is today too.We went with what ISNA said and then our local mosque announced.But most people are telling us it is not the first of Ramadan today.

For a long time (near a decade) they used calculating method…which is not reliable.

Tired of all that drama around moon-sighting and late night calling each other.

I believe in moon-sighting but we can’t sight the moon because of heavy thunder-storms in the evening for the next week or so.
I guess my Ramadan will start roughly in a week or so.

Shariah has a name for that drama. It’s called effort.
Isna has drastically failed this year. There was not a single moon sighting in north America, yet isna decided to go with the imaginary moon sighting. I am amazed that these guys are not even scared of ruining Ramadan of so many people every year. Don’t they believe in the day of judgement?
Side question! What day is the day of judgment according to isna calendar?

The day Pakistanis decide to have ramazan and eid with rest of the world.

Why they have to do it with rest of the world if they are sighting moon in their area?
If you were slightly aware of how earth rotates, you would know that lunar and solar dates are never the same around the world at the same time, so eid can never happen on the same day for the whole world. But how could you know that? You are an Isna follower which has nothing to do with science or religion.

You meat afghans/arabs/africans/turks they have eid on 8th.
You see pakistanis driving to work by the mosques looking at them on 8th and saying “oh inhoon ny aaj eid ki hy”
OMG every year same drama…
