Bhaijan, when I had my test done, they didn't have any technology like RFID and DNA stuff. It was all done manually.

On a serious note, this is very bad news. Immigrants who are fighting their visa rejections in court are part of this program as of now. The plan is to include all immigrants in the future. I cannot imagine how the government can push this through.
Subjects are required to wear this 5-inch square bracelet on their leg. They are required to be inside their houses from 6 PM to 6 AM. Three days a week, they are required to meet, in person, a caseworker. Breaking any of these rules, even once, leads to deportation.
Can you imagine you or your parents following these ridiculous rules when they first came to this country? Wasn’t the USA built upon the great talents that immigrated from other parts of the world due to oppression?

If the person to whose ankles this stuff is tied to does something illegal, then they'll pay for it, and if not then they won't be persecuted.
The only disadvantage I see is having this physical thing tied to your ankle which can be a bit discomfortable, but hey is its for the sake of saving humainty or what have you then I think its worth it. People should cooperate with the law enforcement agencies, and stop doing "aiween k nakhray" :D

Well if the government wants to frame you, they are the government and they surely can. Like how the police frame people in our home country. I'm sure even in the US if the state wants they can persecute Muslims.
In college our phone was tapped since we were involved in MSA political activities. It did bother us that our private convos were being heard, but then we were like so what if it satisfies them let them, we're not planning any illegal activities anyway, so what's the matter.

Faisal, their immigration standing is in question. They are certainly not legal. They should have it on and once they get legal, take it off. Small enough price to pay for living in America I think. Look at a lot of other people..some people have credit cards (haram), Securities (haram), etc etc.. already have sold their souls…they can serve as a good example to these wannabe immigrants who are on the up and up.
