Hand over a crore rupees to any of the flood-stricken people of Pakistan and ur telling me they aren’t going to be happy?
What if the argument is put forward that money can buy even long-term happiness keeping in mind that the rich are living a peaceful life and only the poor are having to suffer!
Ofcourse to a poor man living on the street, money is everything. The more he gets, the happier he becomes. However, there is a certain threshold beyond which (when you begin to enter in the luxurious/elite class of society), the graph between happiness vs money becomes constant.
Even according to Maslow, there is a time when a person is satisfied with money and stuff and what the person wants is self actualisation etc. So OldBoy is right.
Money by itself buys nothing, but it definitely helps.
whether it is happiness from helping others, or opportunities to learn.
it provides the security and accessibility to things, experiences, etc.
so on its own it does little but applied properly it can play an important part.
it can not solve everything that may be keeping a person from being happy though.
Money can’t buy you happiness but it does bring you a more pleasant form of misery may be not everything, but it’s a long way ahead of what comes next ..
Money can’t buy friends, but you can get a better class of enemy.
Money can’t buy happiness…it may bring you physical comfort…but emotionally, if money is the only thing in ur life..you will still feel like something is missing.
