Re: Mom's words
"If your friend can get the top position in college, why can't you ? He is also a human like you and doesn't possess anything more than you " :~)
Well! Well! Well! Isn't this one too common for desi parents?

Re: Mom's words
I miss ami and baba very much. It is very difficult to live away from them but they want me to study in order to have a better future.
Life without parents makes me feel like a person who has been left on a dark cold island and all the warmth has been taken away from him.
Those who are living with parents, NEVER miss even a single chance of serving them, otherwise later you would feel like a fish without water. No matter how much annoying their demands might look at times, there can't be any price of the warmth of their smiles in return..
Re: Mom’s words
nice thread…glad you revivied it ![]()
my late father used to say:
“whatever you want to do…do it after marriage in your own home. right now you are living in my house and you have to abide by my rules” ![]()
mom says:
“when you become a mother…then you’ll understand why I do the things I do”
take note how both quotes have to do with discipline ![]()

^ JazakAllaj khair. Reminds me of another Iqbal's shair. (Which is also among the advices my dad used to give me )
"Manzil ki justujoo mein kyun bhatak raha hai rahi
Tu itna azeem ho ja ke manzil tujhey pukarey"
Is it really Dr. Iqbal's shair ?
sounds like THARA CHAAP shair usually found on the back of a bus or rikshaw...
