yes i took home pregnancy test. i figured 3 weeks by calculating my ovulation date. will have u/s in 2 week and then ill know for sure but for now im pretty sure its either 3 or maybe 4 weeks, no more than that.

Your estimated due date is calculated from the time of your last period. So if you just missed your period you’re most likely 4 weeks along.

but my periods are very irregular. i get them once in 2-3 months.

For simplicity you still count the weeks from 1st day of your last period.

Anyone having mood swings? I am pretty easy going person but now I get turned off at minor things. Also I have huge cravings and it’s like if I don’t eat I get so irritated. However I am putting on too much weight. Whenever I decide to control my eating habits, I have a huge mood turnoff. Any suggestions?

What do you mean “control” your eating habits? Weight loss has no place in pregnancy. You’ll put on the amount of weight that you will and then you’ll lose it after. Of course, eat as healthy as you can manage what with nausea and cravings and even mood swings, and do moderate exercise, and you really only need an additional 300 calories a day for the baby- but don’t deprive yourself of food or go on a diet. This is not the time for that. It would irritate the heck out of me too lol.

Yeah I know I shouldn’t be dieting but I just want to eat reasonably which I am not able to do.

It’s ok to feel hungrier than usual but focus on nutrition rather than calories. Eat smaller portions every 2 hours or so so that you don’t go through long periods of not eating anything. An easy way to cut out junk food is to stop buying it :). Stock up on healthy snacks instead.

As SGC said, your nutritional needs are only an extra 300 calories during pregnancy - that’s equal to approx a glass of homemade milkshake a day.

Every person is different. There really isn’t a set date or time for when you’ll start showing.

Question for the experienced moms - when do stretch marks typically begin to show? I know there’s no way to prevent them, but do you have any tips to minimize them at least?

Im pregnant so not an experienced mum but mine showed up at 6 months, and recently now at 35 weeks i saw some on my breasts

my beta hcg levels today came out to be 2680. according to the lab it could be anywhere from 2weeks to 5weeks.
did anyone have this level around 4-5 weeks pregnancy?

Lucy may- mine had started showing up as I began showing. Start using cocoa butter liberally. The smell is off putting (for me at least) but it Def helps.

thanks! going for ultra sound in 2 weeks. im also just paranoid about ectopic pregnancy, my sister had it once. with my level of hcg, if it were ectopic, i would have been in pain by now, right?
