Re: Moms 2014

oooooo I can’t wait for my baby to come! I wonder what she’ll look like? :hmmm:

Re: Moms 2014

I’ve been using the MyFitnesspal app to track nutrition. It gives a good idea of what’s missing in the diet. Not going crazy overanalyzing every single thing I eat, but being (mostly) vegetarian, need to keep track of protein and iron especially.

Speaking of protein, are you ladies taking any supplements like protein milkshakes?

Re: Moms 2014

^unless you are in protein deficiency due to some reason, I don’t think there is any need to take protein milkshakes.

Preg multivitamins (incl. folic acid and iron usually) and a balanced diet is sufficient

Edit: Oh I missed that you’re a vegetarian, then you should definitely keep an eye on your protein intake.

Re: Moms 2014

^ Thanks! Yes the prenatal vit should take care of iron. Re. protein I’m having to be more mindful of what I eat.. trying to include plenty of dals, legumes, milk, cheese in my diet. Keeping a daily diary on the app really helps..highly recommended if anyone out here is concerned about eating right.

Re: Moms 2014

How are all the mommies and mommies to be doing? :waves:

Re: Moms 2014

How are you and bumpy doing?

Re: Moms 2014

Hey Wendy and Arzi - I’m doing well. I finally figured out that those twitches I’ve been feeling in my tummy and trying to rationalise by telling myself it’s indigestion/wind are actually my baby moving! Yay  I know because last night I got hubby to feel my tummy, and every time baby moved, he could feel it too  It’s really exciting! Eating a lot more now for the past few weeks, but still no visible bump. Went for a picnic with all the in-laws yesterday, some who hadn’t seen me in a while, and they joked I’m hiding the baby in my handbag because I’m still quite slim hehee. I know I’ll pop eventually - just a matter of time.

What’s the latest with you guys?

Re: Moms 2014

i might be a 2014 mommy as well,(either late December or early January). haven’t had ultrasound yet to date my pregnancy but i think im 3 weeks. hoping for a girl
also, when does the nausea usually kick in? i have no symptoms right now, other than some dark patches on my skin which i hear is due to pregnancy.

Re: Moms 2014

Aww isn’t that the best feeling! My LO has been kicking since week 19, and hubby was finally able to feel the kicks last week. He was soo jealous

Re: Moms 2014

congratulations!!

My nausea kicked in by week 8 or 9 and lasted well into week 15.

Moms 2014

Doing well alhamdulillah, nausea kicked in at week 9 but i just had it here and there, thankfully.

35 weeks now, not long to go, did anyone do anything to bring on labour when they were overdue?

Is being induced worse than goin into labour naturally, i cant imagine the day but i am scared, inshallah will be fine

Hope all is well with everyone

Re: Moms 2014

I was over due, I had a fabulous doctor who suggested not to play with mother nature, when it is time it will happen. I was scheduled for induction on 41weeks5days but went into labor almost 2 days before the scheduled induction.

Re: Moms 2014

Congratulations. Did you take a test yet? How did you figure out you were 3 weeks? By the time of a missed period you’re 4 weeks pregnant (if you’re regular).

Nausea usually kicks in early, first trimester  But everyone is different so not all pregnant women experience it.

Re: Moms 2014

Feeling baby move is just best feeling ever isn’t it??

We’re doing good here too! It seems like baby has a fixed schedule. Awake and moving around noon and at night :hehe: I’m showing quite a lot lol.

Re: Moms 2014

Congrats Bella - yes, how do you know you’re pregnant? Just a feeling or did you take a HPT? Congrats either way it’s great news. Nausea kicked in early for me, around 4 weeks, and lasted til about 17/18. I still get it but very less now, thank God!

Girls, I remember somebody asking a few pages back what Surahs you are listening to (if any) during pregnancy? Somebody said Surah Maryam I believe. Anyone listening to any others? Is it bad to listen to YaSin (because it’s read at the time of death…) I don’t know, just wondering.

Re: Moms 2014

Wendy when’s your EDD and what baby number is it? lol. Sorry I’m sure you’ve mentioned before but I forget.

Yes it is the best feeling when baby moves - I’m quite surprised she moves a lottttttttt lol.

Re: Moms 2014

EDD is Sep 1 and this is our 3rd  (3 kids in 4 years alhamdulilah!!)

Re: Moms 2014

oh wow mashAllah congrats - that’s a huge achievement!

Re: Moms 2014

I can’t see why it would be bad reading surah Yaseen??? Reading the Quran (any and all surahs) is a must anyway.
