Iāve had heartburn from around 20 weeksā¦Iām at 37 nowā¦and itās vicious. Some tips that have helped me though: spoonfuls of yogurt at night really help.
When you eat your meals, donāt drink fluids 15 mins before the meal, and 15 mins after the mealā¦as well as during the meal. Fluids distend the stomach and that makes it easier for acid to travel back up the esophagus.
Youāll be able to eat decent-sized meals right now, but as you go later in pregnancy a single bite will make you feel full. Get into the habit of eating small meals occasionally throughout the day.
Fried, fatty and sweet foods are heartburn triggers. Fruit is awesome - just make sure itās not a citrus. Oranges/lemons etc cause terrible heartburn. Oh and orange juice SUCKS! Itās killer for heartburn.
Donāt lie down until at least an hour after eating a meal. In fact, try to walk around a bit.
POSTURE! Sit upright as much as you can, slouching helps heartburn.
Thatās all I can think of right nowā¦but a lot of those tips really helped me.
Really does one gain so much weight during pregnancy? I donāt know which is worse not eating enough, eating too much or eating strange food to induce labor.
