I am in my 12th week atm, and my EDD is **Feb 14th, 2013.
**I'm expecting for the first time ever and I guess I am doing alright. The baby seems healthy and happy from the ultrasound. I could be doing a lot better but then again I could be doing a lot worse.
Where I am, I don't have much support from relatives or family and no access to good medical care. I have been aware that my baby and I are responsible for each other cos heaven forbid something go wrong, there wouldn't be anyone to catch us if we fall. Towards that end, I have been very careful about my health and diet and activities. Despite it being Ramadan, I am not fasting. I drink a LOT of water the entire day. I don't take coffee or tea at all. I don't eat food from outside. I drink lots of milk and eat fruit (even though I don't like fruit)
The initial weeks were very very tough for me. There was a lot of discomfort, body changes in ways I did not imagine. Soreness and fatigue most of all. Nausea was there, but I kept it down to a bare minimum by sheer force of will. That has been my mode of operation during this pregnancy. Mind over matter and a LOT of durood shareef and quran whenever things get difficult. And just telling myself, that it isn't so bad, we will get through this, this is fine.
It works for me. Perhaps it will work for you all.
The pregnancy was unplanned and totally just a blessing from Allah. I am adamant to see it through inshallah to the best of my ability. I have been praying a lot for people these days as well since I hear that duas are heard in pregnancy.

I'm in my 10th week and my EDD is feb 22nd.
I have my first U/S scheduled for the third week of Aug :) Have a doctors appointment this Sat, she'll be checking for baby's heart beat iA!! :D Can't wait.
We started trying last July. It was so hard being disappointed time and again .. but alhamdulilah we got our bfp :D and can't be happier!!!

I LOVED reading your post. it was just so comprehensive and wow I loved seeing your sense of responsibility towards the nanhi si jaan. Keep posting here whenever you have something to share. I know I am going to learn from you on day to day basis 
Wendy, so you tried for a YEAR!! cool. I hope those who have been trying for this much span will get hope from reading this post of yours. Since this is your second, please share with us, do you find any changes or the pregnancy is just same as the first one. Experiences have always been a source of info and help. We might learn and be helped.
We wanted a child from like forever. But it just happened one fine day, alhamdolillah. When I wasnt even hoping really. It was very lovely and easy in the first trimester (funny, no? since its the first trimester people usually find and call the most diffucult and scary) the second one is well something more difficult.
How are your ladies keeping up with the routine in Ramadan? I guess no one is fasting, and so aint I. Is it adding to your frustration too, as it is doing so to me. What are you doing to makeup this odd feeling of not fasting? I thought I would complete atleast two rounds of Quran since I wont be having much else to do. But there is so much fatigue and weird aches all over the body, that I can hardly read a quarter and lie down. This is something which saddens me quite bad.

EDD: Oct 6, 2012 =), I'm currently 7.5 months pregnant.
I'm expecting for the first time, and there have been a few bumps in my pregnancy...but mostly good, alhumdulillah. The 1st trimester was terrible, I threw up every single day until I hit my 16th week =/ There were many times I was in class and I would try to hold back but it was just impossible. 2nd trimester was awesome, it's totally true how comfortable and easy you feel. I'm now in my early 3rd trimester and I've started feeling achy and tired...mainly cos i'm getting bigger lol.
I try to eat healthy and nutritious...but it's up and down. I lost a lot of weight in the beginning due to throwing up so much. Then around my 14th week my tooth started hurting and I found out I needed a root canal procedure done or remove the tooth ASAP. Because of the pain from my tooth I had stopped eating, and lost more weight.
Weirdest thing for me has been cravings - I CRAVE hardcore Pakistani food + watermelon. Day and night. 24/7. Just give me a roti with salan followed by a bowl of cold, cold watermelon. drool I can't stand pasta/pizza etc (I used to love that kind of stuff)...and it sucks cos my husband loves those things lol. Cooking for him is torture.
As for problems...well, the main problems I've had are the tooth thing, and this severe pain under my sternum and in my back - couldn't breathe, broke out in cold sweat and had to go to the ER 3 times already. Pepsin and Gas-X help me sooooo much with that - as soon as I feel the slightest pain, I take my pills and I feel 100x better. Erm... yeah, low on iron..which I think is pretty normal - I don't eat enough red meat. I'm doing really well now...just tired and achy sometimes.
It's been pretty up and down for me, now that I'm reading this post back to myself lol. But a lot of praying and it helps you get through it. Cannot wait to meet my son! =]

So you are the senior most of us so far 
uff even the sound of tootache and root canal process sounds so scary. I have been through the root canal process once and I know how bad is that. Is this your first? I am happy to know your second trimester went well. And wow you have known the gender 
I cannot really wait to know the gender too. Shopping is the most exciting idea in pregnancy, isnt it?

I have very bad morning sickness and it was the same with my first. And I’m tired … exhausted all the time .. I feel like sleeping
The big difference is my cravings. With my first I was craving all things unhealthy. Lasagna and taco bell .. and Chili’s molten chocolate cake 
I had that cake atleast twice a week 
This time around I’m craving weird stuff like cucumbers and tomatoes in a little red wine vinegar .. and lassiiii .. I drink lassi all the time
And with your first pregnancy you can just go and lay down if you’re not feeling well .. with the 2nd it’s so much harder to do so as you have another kid to look after.

My mom and husband kind of forced me into finding out cos she kept saying…“what about shopping? i’m not buying all green or white for the baby” haha. My husband just wanted to know so when the ultrasound tech asked us to guess, he blurted out “boy?” and the tech started laughing and said yeah.
Shopping is so much fun. My mom and I were going through the things we’ve bought and now I feel as if we’ve got way too many things for the baby lol.

Your mum was right, when I was prego we did the same kept it as suprize, n bought all orange, green n white stuff n now I say to m huby we are not keeping it surprise next time

We have mashahallah girl, n the first thing I did after I got discharge asked huby to go n buy few pink dresses n cap , good thing was I did very limited shopping because already my bhabi told me tht baby grow o quick tht sometimes things are left untouched.

lol@ the excitement of your mom. My mom is just the same. Or maybe its because its the first one of her eldest's. She cannot possibly control the excitement. It was really hard to ask her to wait till I reach my 7th. So have you completed your shopping for the little one?
