Re: Moms 2012- 2013

Re: Moms 2012- 2013

i think thats why you are practicing sneezing

Re: Moms 2012- 2013

why? over eating? :@:

Re: Moms 2012- 2013

its awful, isn't it? but the good thing is it should pass at some point. in the meantime, go with the flow as much as you can- if you can't eat, don't force yourself, and what you can stand, eat lots of it. i basically lived on chicken corn soup for months when i was pregnant and went on to have a happy, healthy baby mA so don't stress too much about it. keep as hydrated as you can- if water isn't working for you, try making a mild tea or opt for whatever juice doesn't have you feeling ill.

Re: Moms 2012- 2013

it is awful... i never expected pregnancy to be like this... i just hope it passes sooner than later.

glad to know that you had a healthy baby on a chicken corn soup diet. i was beginning to worry abt my diet and the health of the baby :)

the worst part is i moved to riyadh a couple of months ago so dont have any family or friends to go to when i'm stressed... its just my husband who's super stressed abt my condition too

Re: Moms 2012- 2013

my body is starting to get weird n i am not even that far along so thats why i am a bit worried keh if i am so tired now what am i gona do later?

body massage is not a bad idea :stuck_out_tongue:

Re: Moms 2012- 2013

Recommended FoodsThe food of a foetus is obtained from the blood of the mother and so most of what the mother eats and drinks eventually reaches the child in one form or another.
It is narrated from Imām ‘Alī (as): “Allāh (swt) has trapped the blood in the stomach of the mother, so that it becomes the sustenance of the child.”[253]](http://www.al-islam.org/heavenlypath/7.htm#_ftn253)
It is also narrated from Imām as-Sādiq (as): “Whatever the mother eats, drinks or breathes during pregnancy, Allāh (swt) also allots it to the child.”[254]](http://www.al-islam.org/heavenlypath/7.htm#_ftn254)
It is therefore again, as with conception, very important that the mother takes care with the food that she eats. About harām intake and harām food in particular, it is narrated from Imām as-Sādiq (as) that “The effects of harām earnings become apparent in the offspring of a person.”[255]](http://www.al-islam.org/heavenlypath/7.htm#_ftn255)
In another tradition it is narrated from Imām al-Bāqir (as): “All sins are grave, and the gravest of them is that of which blood and meat grows on (i.e. harām intake).”[256]](http://www.al-islam.org/heavenlypath/7.htm#_ftn256)
It is recommended to eat the following foods during pregnancy:
1. Breast of animal meat
a. Is very useful for pregnant women and makes the newborn child beautiful and strong.[257]](http://www.al-islam.org/heavenlypath/7.htm#_ftn257)
2. Chicory[258]](http://www.al-islam.org/heavenlypath/7.htm#_ftn258)****
a. Is good for the increase (in size) of a child.
b. Increases the water around the waist, makes the child good and increases the masculinity of a male child.
c. Is a cause of beauty of the child.
d. Eating a lot is a cause of increase of wealth, and a male child.
Chicory is also good medicine for the liver.

3. Dates
a. It is apparent from traditions that the best food and medicine for a pregnant woman is dates.[259]](http://www.al-islam.org/heavenlypath/7.htm#_ftn259)
b. It is narrated from Imām ‘Alī (as): “No food is better for a pregnant woman than fresh dates.”[260]](http://www.al-islam.org/heavenlypath/7.htm#_ftn260)
c. It is narrated from the Prophet (s): “For pregnant women, especially when giving birth, the best food is dates, because Allāh (swt) has sworn by its greatness and glory. And if women use ratb (a type of fresh dates) in these days, their newborn children, whether son or daughter, will be forbearing and patient.”[261]](http://www.al-islam.org/heavenlypath/7.htm#_ftn261)
d. It is narrated from Imām as-Sādiq (as): “If one eats apple, her child will be beautiful, and if one eats squash, the memory of both the woman and child will increase, and eating ratb (a type of fresh dates) and dates strengthens the body.”[262]](http://www.al-islam.org/heavenlypath/7.htm#_ftn262)
NOTE: It has also been narrated from Imām as-Sādiq (as) that one should smell an apple before eating it.[263]](http://www.al-islam.org/heavenlypath/7.htm#_ftn263)
e. Dates are known as the fruits of paradise and were the fruit of choice of the Prophet (s). They have also been mentioned in the Noble Qur’an.[264]](http://www.al-islam.org/heavenlypath/7.htm#_ftn264)
Dates contain thirteen elements of vital importance, and five types of vitamins, making it a rich food. The calcium in dates is essential for firming bones, the phosphorus for forming the brain and preventing weakness of the nerves and tiredness, and the potassium for preventing wounds/sores in the stomach.[265]](http://www.al-islam.org/heavenlypath/7.htm#_ftn265)
4. Fig[266]](http://www.al-islam.org/heavenlypath/7.htm#_ftn266)****

e. It is not recommended for those with Diabetes Mellitus, stomach or intestine disorders, or overweight people. Overeating also causes problems for the stomach and eyes; however, eating celery neutralises these effects.[269]](http://www.al-islam.org/heavenlypath/7.htm#_ftn269)
5. Makka Ubani[270]](http://www.al-islam.org/heavenlypath/7.htm#_ftn270)** and [271]](http://www.al-islam.org/heavenlypath/7.htm#_ftn271)**
a. It has been narrated from the Prophet (s) that one should make pregnant women eat makka ubani, for surely when the makka ubani becomes food for the child in the stomach, it will make his/her heart strong and increase his/her intellect.[272]](http://www.al-islam.org/heavenlypath/7.htm#_ftn272)
6. Olive oil
a. A pregnant woman should not forego drinking olive oil as it makes her colour white, and clears her liver as well as that of her child.[273]](http://www.al-islam.org/heavenlypath/7.htm#_ftn273)
7. Pomegranate[274]](http://www.al-islam.org/heavenlypath/7.htm#_ftn274)****
a. Highly recommended to be eaten before breakfast on Fridays.
b. Makes the child good (righteous).
c. Very good for easing nausea, anemia, jaundice, joint aches, blood pressure and piles.[275]](http://www.al-islam.org/heavenlypath/7.htm#_ftn275)
d. Anyone who eats 1 pomegranate, their heart will be filled with Nūr (Noble light) and Satan will not whisper to them for 40 days.[276]](http://www.al-islam.org/heavenlypath/7.htm#_ftn276)
8. Qawoot[277]](http://www.al-islam.org/heavenlypath/7.htm#_ftn277)****
a. If eaten by both parents, it is a cause of strength and lack of stupidity, weak mindedness and foolishness in the child.
b. Feeding the child qawoot causes increase in strength, growth of the flesh, and firmness of the bones.
9. Quince

Re: Moms 2012- 2013

But Rasoolulah made a special recommendation for pregnant woman to eat "bateeq" i.e watermelon:
** "None of your women who are pregnant and eat of watermelon will fail to produce offspring who are good in countenance and good in character."**
And what Muslimah wouldn't want that?

If you're pregnant, the benefits are even more delicious.
*
Watermelon eases heartburn and reduces swelling;

its high water content (92 percent) and fruit sugars alleviate morning sickness and dehydration;

and the minerals it contains can help prevent third-trimester muscle cramps. *

Ounce for ounce, watermelon is richer than tomatoes in lycopene, an antioxidant that protects against cancer and cardiovascular disease, boosts the body's immunity to infections and naturally raises the skin's SPF, according to Steven Pratt, M.D., author of SuperFoods Rx (HarperCollins, 2003).

Even better news for pregnant women: A 2003 study in the International Journal of Gynecology and Obstetrics found that daily lycopene supplements reduced the incidence of preeclampsia by 50 percent. Test subjects were given 4 milligrams of lycopene; a single serving of watermelon can have triple that amount. What's more, scientists have discovered that watermelon is packed with vitamins A, C and B6, as well as potassium and magnesium. These nutrients are important for the development of your baby's vision, brain, nervous and immune systems, and more. For you, potassium regulates water balance in the blood and body tissues during pregnancy. And you get all these benefits for less than 50 calories per cup.
**

An Easy Way To Ease Nausea
**

Some pregnant women swear that watermelon is all they can keep down when morning sickness kicks in. Perhaps the only thing more refreshing than a big slice is a glass of fresh watermelon juice or a watermelon ice pop--and making either is so easy.

To make juice, purée 8 cups cubed seedless watermelon in a blender until smooth. Pour through a fine-mesh sieve (don't press the fruit through with a spoon, or the juice will be too fibrous). Discard the pulp. Serve the juice immediately or chill it, stirring well before serving. If desired, add 1 tablespoon citrus juice (such as lime, lemon or orange) to intensify the flavor. Makes 1 quart, or about 4 8-ounce cups.

To make ice pops, purée 4 cups frozen, seedless, cubed watermelon and 1 tablespoon lemon juice in a blender. Pour purée into popsicle molds or 10 small paper cups. To forgo the fibers, strain purée through a fine-mesh sieve before pouring into molds. Top each cup with aluminum foil, making a small slice in the top of each with a knife and inserting a wooden stick. Place in freezer until hardened, then unmold when ready to eat. For variety, mix the purée with lemonade, sweetened low-fat yogurt, fruit juice or other fruit purées before freezing.
Makes 10 2 1/2 -ounce servings.

Re: Moms 2012- 2013

this wonderful duah that a mom can do during pregancy to protect her unborn child:
It was the prayer the Mother of that Blessed and wonderful Lady (Myriam) was doing everyday after salat and when she was praying Allah s.w.t. to protect her unborn child:
Bissimilahi Rahmani Rahim:
“Rabbi Inni Nazartou laka Mafi Batni Muharranan, fata khabal Miniya, Innaka Anta Samikhoul Halimoul”

Sahih International
[Mention, O Muhammad], when the wife of 'Imran said, “My Lord, indeed I have pledged to You what is in my womb, consecrated [for Your service], so accept this from me. Indeed, You are the Hearing, the Knowing.” (3, 35)

Re: Moms 2012- 2013

FOR ALL MOTHERS WHO REMAIN DEPRESSED AND NEGATIVE:

It is important to remember that emotional instability of pregnant women may release negative
substance within her blood which can lead to discomfort. The baby would be stimulated the
same way and become unstable.

According to children psychologist Dra. Surastuti Nurdadi,
positive stimulation on the contrary can increase children intelligence since they were unborn.
Moreover, when the pregnancy is twenty weeks old, fetus can hear outside voices. Al-Qur’an
recital is the best a recital that must be sounded off to a baby, so later he/she could get used to
