Re: Moments of cricketing brilliance in 2005

About a half dozen Warne deliveries that turned several feet to dismantle clueless england bats' bails.

Sincerely,
Captain Lota

Re: Moments of cricketing brilliance in 2005

^ i saw a one he bowled to Staruas, what a delivary. I dont know what Mr. Strauss was thinking. Is his batting so poor or that the ball spun too much.

Re: Moments of cricketing brilliance in 2005

The last day of the first test against England in Multan. Sheer poetry.

Re: Moments of cricketing brilliance in 2005

and not to forget the post lunch session at Lahore, 3rd test.
and what about gangu's dismissal in the 2nd innings of Banglore Test:D

Re: Moments of cricketing brilliance in 2005

oh yeah. I should have mentioned that delivery. It was oh-so-unbelievable.

Re: Moments of cricketing brilliance in 2005

Y Khan batting for a place in the team in chennai and in banglore and his presence in the field!

afridi raping irfan pathan throughout the entire series and eventually india dropped pthan from the side

the match at edgebaston i think it was, the last 2 wicket partnerships Brett lee put on and then aus losing in last over with 2 runs 2 get!

Re: Moments of cricketing brilliance in 2005

afridi's 100 off 45 balls,inzi's last ball four 4th odi

Re: Moments of cricketing brilliance in 2005

I believe some people are missing the point of the thread. We're talking about moments not whole sessions. Something like a great shot, or an impossible catch. Or a total unplayable delivery etc.

Few more:
Geriant Jones catches Butt off Udal. Ball hit Trescothick's head and baloons somewhere behind GoJo. He keeps his eyes on the ball throughout, turns around, runs back and dives to take a wonderful catch.

Kamran Akmal catches Trescothick off Shoaib Malik. Trescothick goes for the sweep shot, inside-edges the ball that goes straight down to hit Tresco's boot and bounce back up. Akmal has enough presence of mind to see that the ball has hit the boot and not the ground. He then sprints forward, comes around Trescothick and dives infront of him and catches a wonderful left-handed catch.

Sincerely,
Captain Lota

Re: Moments of cricketing brilliance in 2005

Kaneria's googly to get rid of Udal, bowled middle stump, Multan test.
Kaneria's googly to get Flintoff bowled out first ball duck, Lahore test.
Afridi's delivery that made an almost 90 degree turn to dismantle Ganguly's gangulies, 3rd Test Day 5.

Sincerely,
Captain Lota

Re: Moments of cricketing brilliance in 2005

afrdi bowling ganguly right through the gate in banglore,

pathan bounces afrdi hits him on the shoulder, afridi shows no sign of pain, pathan grins, next ball hit for 6

Re: Moments of cricketing brilliance in 2005

I believe this was the 5th Ashes Test with Ponting batting in the first innings. Ball is delivered by Flintoff, and goes towards second slip and bounces off of Tresco and heads towards Strauss who ends up catching the ball.

Another incident is obviously the end of the 2nd test with Harmission getting the wicket with only 2 runs needed to win.

Re: Moments of cricketing brilliance in 2005

Looks like 95% of the "cricketing brilliance in 2005" involved Pakistanis.

Re: Moments of cricketing brilliance in 2005

You forgot Dhoni raping entire paki team specially Afridi.

Shahid Afridi 9 0 82 0

Re: Moments of cricketing brilliance in 2005

I guess its Just like 101% of the cricketing brilliance in 2003 was Tendulkar’s 6 of shoiab

Re: Moments of cricketing brilliance in 2005

Ghussa kyun kharahe ho, if you thought that was a moment of brilliance u should have wrote it! damn man, always just want to start an argument!

Re: Moments of cricketing brilliance in 2005

So, what do you make of Balaji’s SIX of Akhtar in 2004.

btw, Akhtar isn’t that great. He may be fast and all but has been taken apart many times in one-dayers.

Did I hear some 1 crying?:p

Waisay alot of people have mentioned about Ashes. And we have mentioned India specially the Bangalore test and the ODI series. So nothing has been taken away from Australia, England and Team India.

Re: Moments of cricketing brilliance in 2005

Same thing that you make of Sami's SIX of Balaji in 2004.

Sincerely,
Captain Lota

Re: Moments of cricketing brilliance in 2005

Balaji’s SIX off Akhtar gets more credit since its harder to hit a SIX off a chucker…and a fast one at that.
