Mola e kainat ???

Asalam o alaikum…

Just now I was watching Salamati ka safar * on Qtv..and the molana said * Mola e kainat Hazrat Ali kw.
so I want to know isn’t Mola means Rab or Khuda? Then why so many people call mola e kainat to Hazrat Ali ?

Mai yahan koi Sunni Shia ki bahas nahi chahti..just want to know coz my knowledge is limited.

Re: Mola e kainat ???

Word maula has many meanings. Imam Ali is bestowed with this title by Allah swt and the Prophet saww. See the verse 5:55 in the holy Quran and the event affiliated with this verse. And the event of Ghadir for more details. http://www.al-islam.org/ghadir/

*words pe na jaayeN aitaqaadaat ko dekheN...aapko pataa chal jaayegaa k Haqeeqat kia hai! *

Re: Mola e kainat ???

Have you heard ... Qasidah Burdah by Imam Al-Busairi ...

Maula ya Sallee Wa Sallim Daiman Abadan ... ???

Re: Mola e kainat ???

and from this stemmed the word, Moula-na :)

Re: Mola e kainat ???

Peace Psyah

I think in Qaseeda Burda Sharif ‘Maula ya’ referred to ‘O my Lord’ and will be same as ‘Ya Allah’ if we change the order of words to ‘Ya Maula’. Further Maula has been used in Quran refereeing to Allah e.g ‘Naim ul Maula wa naim u naseer’.

I think Pagluu is right that Maula has different meanings, but that also need further explanation in perspective of Arabic language.

Re: Mola e kainat ???

Peace

Apologees … You are absolutely right :k: … I was thinking of where I heard “maula” and just wrote it down without thinking … There are other places where I have heard this used for RasoolAllah (SAW)

Re: Mola e kainat ???

It's the kainat part that I am having trouble with ... maula in itself just means "lord" which is used for all types of "lords"

Re: Mola e kainat ???

Me too confused with Ka'inaat part bcoz literary it means 'lord of the universe'.

Re: Mola e kainat ???

^ Hmmm and that is my question that why mola e Kainat
???

Re: Mola e kainat ???

Have you opened up the Quran to look at the verse 55 of Suratul Maeda? Word ‘wali’ (root word where Maula derives from) is used at more than 120 points in Quran. Take a look at them to get an understaing of the term.

Quran declares Prophet saww “mercy to the whole universe”. Prophet saww declares Ali guardian to all who consider him their guardian. Thus this is one of the titles of Imam Ali.

Some traditions here from Sunni sheikh Al Qadri.

Re: Mola e kainat ???

Ok. Agreed that word 'Maula' / 'Wali' used at various places of Quran in different meaning, but the question remained unanswered why Maula e Kainaat is used for Hazrat Ali (RA), as this particular word 'Kainaat' is not Arabic but of Persian origin. Do we have equal title for Hazrat Ali (RA) in 'Arabic' texts.

Re: Mola e kainat ???

Because Persian has been lingua franca in the sub continent. Thus Prophet saww is referred to as 'Shahansha e Dou-Aalam' or Imam Ali as 'Mushakilkusha'. Do not confuse these terms with formal titles as these popular terms too are Persian yet have roots within the Islamic traditions.

Re: Mola e kainat ???

Then what does 'Maulae Kainaat' mean when used for Hazrat Ali (RA). Is Kainaat refers to Ummat e Muslima and therefore the whole term 'Maula e Kainaat' refers to 'leader of Muslim Umma' and its equal title in Arabic is 'Ameer ul momineen'.

Re: Mola e kainat ???

Hazrat Ali AS was declared Mawla by Holy Prophet at Ghadeer e Khum:

“For whoever I am his Leader (mawla), 'Ali is his Leader (mawla).”
you can refer to the following website for references

www.al-islam.org/ghadir
Prophet Mohammad declared whoever he is the mawla, Ali is his mawla (leader). If Prophet is the prophet of the whole universe, Imam Ali AS can be the mawla for the universe also…

Re: Mola e kainat ???

Yes we read ‘Rabb il aalameen’ , ‘Rehmat ul lil aalameen’ in Quran and other Arabic books. What is the Arabic equivalent of ‘Maula e Kainaat’, which was also used by Imam Zain ul Aabideen and his successors in their books, etc.

Re: Mola e kainat ???

Why don't you tell us yourself what word the Imam used as an equivalent of Maula e Kainaat?
To me one word come to mind as an equivalent: "Maual e Kul".

Re: Mola e kainat ???

Peace Khoji

I myself don't know the Arabic equivalent of Maula e Kainaat that was used by Imams or Shia Arab scholars. Maul e Kul is also persian in its origin.

Re: Mola e kainat ???

Well, some Arabic speaking folk can tell.
But I see no problem with some religious terms of Persian origin without their Arabic equivalents.

Re: Mola e kainat ???

I don't understand what the verse 55 have to do with word 'Moula-e-Kainat'.
