i have noticed that when any Karachiite calls him/herself Mohajir a lot of people jump from everywhere explaining that it’s not a right term. Some might go even in detail like since thye shouldn’t call themselves with this name as they didn’t migrate and blah blah. Some of you might call them urdu speaking, Karachiite, bhaiyyay etc. Worst so far I have heard is the word “traitor” but what’s in a name? why shouldn’t they be called whatever the want.
also, i don’t know how the same people who are born in US, Europe, or even in Karachi call themselves Pashtoon, Baloch, or Punjabi depending on their parental or grandparents hometown and not sindhi or Karachiite? just wondering.
So Moona, what's the answer to the excellent question? Pls., since you have all the answers, do the honors...
And all you foreign-born videshi products, pls. help answer this:

IT IS SHAME FOR PAKISTAN THAT INDIA WITH 29 STATES NOW DONT HAVE BENGALI MADRASI GUJRATI FEELING AS 50YRS AGO ,AND PAKISTAN WHICH NEVER HAD ETHNIC NAMES NOW b/C OF SOME AIR HEAD,SUPERFICIAL PERSONALITY ,PLASTIC BOLLYWOOD GLAMOUR WANT TO FEEL MORE BEUTIFULL & PUNJABI THAN PAKISTANI !!
I am amazed at the drooling of girls over Raj pal ,Hrithik ,& for boys Kareena ,Ash in the Image & Shor Sharaba .
You asked, "why shouldn't they be called whatever they want."
And then you stated, "also, i don't know how the same people who are born in US, Europe, or even in Karachi call themselves Pashtoon, Baloch, or Punjabi depending on their parental or grandparents hometown and not sindhi or Karachiite".
But I suppose you are saying they should classify themselves "correctly" and then they can call themselves whatever they want.
Forgive me for not understanding the question. Are you asking about people raised in Sindh or Karachi, as to why they dont refer to themselves as that, or are you referring to people who happened to be born there but raised elsewhere?
Oye!!! umm.. sorry to disappoint but Indians are crazy over their filmi sitaras. Not necessarily drool, but yeah, the kids just definitely go gaga over films, and the adults sure do love the oldies. As if everyone knows everyone personally… Salman ki movie… Ash ka dress…
And within India, there is still the Tu gujrati che mai marvadi mi, but yes, not to the deep level within Pakistan. You cannot discount it entirely. But it is mostly only caste system that is deeply prevalent thruout India, otherwise there is not much state or province antagonism.

What is your problem moona? Why did you bring up Pak haters? Where do you see Pak haters in this thread? Maybe it's all in your head. If you have nothing intelligent to add, please keep quite.
khan_sahib, thank you for bringing this excellent point up again. Some months ago, I started a thread asking whop here was mohajir. Certain member like moona literally attacked me for being anti-Pakistani and god knows what else. It seems in the eyes of the establishment, mohajir is a dirty word now. It is a word to be spit on and ridiculed off. The brainwashing of moahjris has become so severe that even they are afraid of calling themselves anything other then Pakistanis or Urdu speaking. But of course Punjabis, Pushtuns etc. can call themselves with their ethnic identity.
If Punjabis living in Karachi can call themselves Punjabis, why can't Mohajirs living in Karachi call themselves Mohajirs?
yeah and once u leave pakistan, why do you have to have the dum challa of Pakistan associated with you. By this token if someone rom lukhnow moving to karachi now has to not mention their origin or cant include that in describign who they are, why do pakistanis in pakistan expect people who were born abroad to cliassify themselves as pakistani.
If someone in karachi whose family migrated can not refer to himself as a dehli wala, or lukhnawi or surati or whatever, why should someone in US consider call himself Pakistani-american.

I'm sorry we don't live in your perfect world of all Muslims as brothers, let alone all humans as brothers. We live in a cruel world where the colour of your skin, your last name, your language, your clothes, your material wealth decide your destiny.
My question is why people who migrated from India can't call themselves Mohajirs. My argument was that how come the Punjabi, Pathan, Baluch people who are born either in US, Europe, or even in Karachi call themselves Punjabi, Pathan, Baluch respectively while denying the migrants from India the right to call Mohajir.
I hope I am clear this time. :)
moona, I think I read that you were born in the US and proud to be punjabi or Pakistani in the other thread. (correct me if i am wrong) In the light of my question could you please answer the question.
Have people discussing Kashmir, Chechnya, Palestine and Burundi all been to those places? Also, you don't know anything about me, so don't assume.
What do you characterize as a "freedom" movement? We all got our freedom in 1947, unless haven't read your history. If freedom is disrupting and demolishing lives and ties that are already free to begin with, that is oppression not freedom.
Yes but in INDIA thss people dont STICK LKE SORE THUMB,what i meanisn’t it hypoxcricy that you abuse india & its people only to turn around & drool over Hrithik Or Madhuri or Ash ???
Fraudia can you show me how to do that ?ireally like bigger font .And if you can add more colour choices plz. Any other idea will be greatly appreciated Lucnovi or is that not true ?
