Mohabbat by Nikkah!

My nani used to say all the time that ‘Nikkah automatically puts love in the couples’ hearts’ and that I would find love soon after I put my name on the line (sign the nikkah papers). I used to strongly disagree with that till I actually had my nikkah read!

Of course, I didn’t feel the instant connection just after the signature but the ‘Arsi Musaf’ did change my world! I’ll always remember how I felt peeking shyly into the mirror and having my first real look at him! I can’t say how he felt but I do know that I can’t explain how I felt.

So, what about you? Do you think the whole ‘Mohabbat by Nikkah!’ story works or it is just a ruse cooked up by our part of society?

You know my stance on that already!

Re: Mohabbat by Nikkah!

Will tell you Mahismart when I get married inshALLAH

Re: Mohabbat by Nikkah!

^ same here

But my cousin said that as well! She said she didnt have any feelings for him prior to the whole wedding being arranged but then started having real feelings once she said Kabool Haye..lol.

Each person has a different experience I guess.

Re: Mohabbat by Nikkah!

Works if both are on the same page or atleast trying to get on the same page.

Re: Mohabbat by Nikkah!

Awe Mahi that is so cute!

aww! :) i agree, i've seen it happen too many times not to believe it!

Re: Mohabbat by Nikkah!

Allah says: “And among His Signs is this, that He created for you mates from among yourselves, that ye may dwell in tranquillity with them, and He has put love and mercy between your (hearts): verily in that are Signs for those who reflect.”

I take it to believe that we should believe in it as part of our religion; that real love cannot dwell outside the lawful bounds of marriage.

Re: Mohabbat by Nikkah!

wow this is so sweet na ...congrats to mahi on ur nikah :D

Re: Mohabbat by Nikkah!

ah well, i dunno what that says about me then.

people kept telling me i'd feel different and i really didn't, except finally feeling relaxed.

but then they also kept asking me if i was nervous in the run up. no! it was just making public what we already knew and felt.

since the day we decided to marry each other we felt like there was nothing that we couldn't share with one another. i never had even a fleeting moment that this was not the right thing or that he wasn't my life partner.

^ So sweet MA, Mahi, So beautiful...and the quotation from the Quran is so lovely and has so much meaning if we understand....I hope we are all blessed with this xxx

Re: Mohabbat by Nikkah!

Before my nikah, I was feeling a little estranged towards my wife. I hadn't really met her properly even once. I don't really fall in love that easily. Khair, the first time I met her after the nikah, I felt a strong feeling of love and affection towards her. so yes thats absolutely true.... something happens after nikah and its so sweet !!

Re: Mohabbat by Nikkah!

Mashallah, thats' so sweet!

Re: Mohabbat by Nikkah!

It is so good to know a man's perspective on this snowy_winter as we don't have many grooms posting here. I do wish more turn up. :)

Re: Mohabbat by Nikkah!

mahi, thats very sweet!

Re: Mohabbat by Nikkah!

I do think its true. Allah says in the Quran that He puts love and mercy in your hearts, HE PUTS it ---as I heard someone say once, when you get married, some people give you cash, some people give you a toaster, the love and mercy is wedding gift from Allah SWT :) Its only in a pure and halal relationship that you have this blessed love, because its something from Allah straight into your hearts!

there was a teacher of mine who would make this face all the time as if she was sulking. n she would talk rudely wid every student out there especially the boys and would chide anyone who did something that wasn't upto her standards.
and when she got married I saw her smiling for the first time in my life. one day i took my book to her to ask her to explain me something n she was writing something on the dais. i peeked at what she was writing and to my surprise she was drawing hearts with chalk. i am not sure about it but God did put love into her heart n she started being nice wid everyone :)

@midnighteyes
i like the pure and halal part and agree with it.
