You also cannot use violence to prove your point, nor can you punish people for any wrong-doing unless directed otherwise (ex. death penalties assigned by the Quran, etc like death penalty for murderers). You cannot take the law into your own hands. You're not proving anything by that.

** To be honest, i find this thread quite interesting! Everyone has their own definition of a Muslims, most are similar in some ways. Who introduced the "Moderate Muslims" and "Radical Muslims"? Does Holy Quran have multiple definitions of a Muslim, i would rather use the word "Momin"?
What's the point of starting this thread? Is that because we're kind of getting tierd of arguing on all other issues? Or Is that because it's becoming our habit to argue with close ears, eyes and barins? Insteade of proving ourselves to others that we're the best Ummah ever we argue with each other for sake of our pleasure and because we can't find anything that could entertain us! **
** Why can't we just look at ourselves and see where do we stand instead of critisizing other poeple, their actions etc.? Why do we worry so much about what our Muslims brothers/sisters in other part of the world or even in our own communities when we never heard(with our ears)/witnessed(with our eyes) their side of the story? Didn't Allah Subhaanhu Wa Ta'ala promised us that He'll give us everything in this duniya and in hereafter we obey Him and His Rasoul (SAW)? Isn't Allah Subhaanhu Wa Ta'ala's promise and words enough for us? How many of us, who argue here day and night on these lame topics, actually tried to imagine the siutaion which our Muslims brothers/sisters going through in different parts of the world or tried to learn more about Islam by ourselves (e.g. reading Quranic tafseer and ahdith)?**

well if u say the director was very wrong in what he did and asked for what he got; then ur a radical muslim!
doesnt matter if ur against innocent civilians being killed by anyone in anyway, anywhere around the world
if ur against the cartoons; u raise ur voice and let it be known in peaceful protests or by other peaceful means; ur still radical cuz u cant take nething against ur Prophet (PBUH)!

The Islamic punishment for dishonouring the Prophet salAllahualaihiwasallam is death.
You can look up the stories of Ka’ab ibn Ashraf, Abu Raafi’, Khalid bin Sufyaan and they were taken out in the Prophet's time. There are a few others as well.
Obviously these people went too far in their lies and crossed the line, that's why they got a harsh punishment.

Its very interesting to see these different views.I agree with everyone who suggest that we do not need to distinguish between moderate or liberal or conservative Muslims and to me the reason for that is that if we first define a Muslim without getting into conservative or liberal or moderate definitions and then compare that definition of a Muslim or a Momin to the elements that separate liberal from consrvative. Dont just fall in the trap that any Muslim who tries to raise the voice against illegal occupations or brutal genocide is a conservative and therefore a terrorist.
I guess we all agree that growing a beard praying five times a day and pointing out something wrong is not being conservative. So is suicide bombing is being conservative and hardliner ??? Well Islam doesnt support suicide bombing,it specifically prohibits killing enemy animals cutting their trees and mis handling women and children ,i think we can agree on that. But the answer is not simple. You cannot put this label on a nation that has been the victims of intentional and planned brutality for generations that has lost thousands and could do nothing but throw stones at armoured vehicles and tanks and then they suddenly find a way that allows them to impose a fraction of pain on their enemy that they themselves have suffered for decades. Do we call them conservative or radical ????? In theory may be Yes..... Practically....when you get in a situation where you know ur enemy will get away with day light murder with crushing children under tanks when you loose ur family then unfortunately difference between liberal and radical is not so clear. I am not for a moment saying that all of this is justified. Despite all these feelings i still feel Usma B L has done more harm to Islam and Muslims than to what he calls his enemy....Only if he had invested all that effort to remove the monarchist practices in middle east....only if he had invested his fortune in educating Muslim youth...... My point is that enemy has done and will keep doin anything and everything and frankly its his right. But we make their job easy by confusing and doubting our religon. My point is that a Muslim is a Muslim is a Muslim. Dont label and dont try to eradicate a thought.... Identify and eliminate the reason the causes that creat that thought.
But whatever we say it is up to us to identify elements within our ranks that defame Isalm and its image.
