mobilink Pakistan question

if someone has a mobilink phone in Pak, do they need to activate roaming to be able to use it in UK?

if so, do they need to do this while in Pakistan or can they do it even if they are not in pakistan

same for voicemail.

they need people to be able to reach them on those numbers and/or leave messages on those numbers if needed and will not be using those phones much at all.

anyone know?

Re: mobilink Pakistan question

yep! you need to call them up, and this applies to post paid connections, not jazz.

Re: mobilink Pakistan question

I thought that you need like a different card not the sim, like the one that starts with Z..that allows that...I may be wrong though...can find out.

Re: mobilink Pakistan question

so teh situation os this. my folks are leaving for UK like today, and they have official binid in pakmanland for which they would be contacted on their cellphone digits, cuz I cant get the ppl there to call long distance to talk to them..anyhoo..so i hafat either get vmail on their phones or get em roaming..due to moharram the shops are closed, so they cant do nuffin in person.

hep? hep me!!

Re: mobilink Pakistan question

yaar spock i have no idea what the diff is between post paid and jazz, last time I went to pak was in the last millenium...uss waqt wahan dvds naheen hoteen theen let alone mobile phones

barri apa, i need roaming for mibilink users who go to UK, aap ka link is for farangis going to pakistan.

Re: mobilink Pakistan question

get them a temporary toll free number and have their pak calls forwarded to that number?

http://www.mobilinkgsm.com/jazz/IR.php

OK I swear this time it is right.

That may work…will it not. I dont know how that works but
www.raza.com
offers that. Anyone tried it?

:omg: X2 you sound so much like my older brother in the style ..you have no idea:omg:…

Re: mobilink Pakistan question

Yeah, how would he have any idea Asky :smack: That was a silly statement :chai:

oh Man! My older brother is sooo funny ..he makes a conversation with anyone who meets his eye…Now I call him..and see if he is still awake…time to return the favor…he calls me at odd times and say why are you sleeping so soon:smack:

Re: mobilink Pakistan question

I see. He seems just like X2 in that case :hmmm:.

Acha acha baba, I’m having pagalpan key dohrey it seems.

Thanks

sorry for late reply, had been trying to get a hold of mobilink ppl but they seem to be closed, retail locations too but then desi are probabl sleeping.

okay so here is teh deal. dad needs to put 1500 or so on his phone in credits, and then dial 111 to get international roaming activated.

I cant get a hold of mobilink..so dont know that if the shops are closed today and someone else puts credits on the acct later, could international roaming still be activated if dad and his phone are in UK.

worse case scenario is that they leave their phones with my cousin and have him put some credits and initiate international roaming and then dhl it to them in UK.

bah

ask99..so what did say that sounds like your brother?

Re: mobilink Pakistan question

ok. i had this thakkar mobile link phone (when i was in pakistan) n my bro gets me Rs. 100 jazz cards (pay as u go kinda thing)…which only gives u 88 minutes.
n i tightly hold this thakkar phone in my hands and cover myself completely with chaadar so one could snatch it from me. (yeah i was hell scared.)

ps. i dont know about UK…but they dont work in canada :bummer:

U can call their helpline and ask them to activate it for u.. the options are usually given at the back of the pre-paid cards... if it's a post-paid account ask them to call inquiry and get the number... they don't have to go to the offices to get their roaming activated.
