Mob loots, torches Christian colony in Lahore

Re: Another nonsense - another bad news!

*Bishop Akram Gill, of the Emmanuel Church also stands and makes an official complaint against the Sharif-led Punjab government.

“The Shantinagar and Gojra incidents too happened during the Sharifs’ rule. How is it that when they are not in power, we tend to live more peacefully? The time has come that Christians must ask themselves:
Can we live in Pakistan any longer? We request the UNO to give us refuge because we cannot find any justice in this country.”*

I was thinking the exact same thing last nite....and i agree that time has come for civilized world to step up and help minorities in pakistan....they shd start giving asylum to these poor minorities or else masses in pakistan will kill each one of them.....Europe, Aus, NZ, USA should absorb these poor people...even large muslim countries malaysia, turkey, Indonesia shd step up.

Re: Mob loots, torches Christian colony in Lahore

Anti religious hatred in the garb of progressive talk. Nice.

Yes, we need more religion...more pepole who take their religion seriously. Those who follow the example of the rightly guided Caliphs and the companions of the Prophet. You will simply see no precedence for this behavior in their conduct. Again, there are no laws on the book to justify what happened. You have religious people here and in Pakistan condemning the attack. Quit your crass opportunism. No one is seriously interested in a secular agenda, and it's certainly not going to save lives or property in the future.

Re: Mob loots, torches Christian colony in Lahore

fine..please keep living in a dream...and you know what....you are not surprising me...people like you are the majority in pakistan..that is why we have no hope

look what you just said "

"Yes, we need more religion...more pepole who take their religion seriously. Those who follow the example of the rightly guided Caliphs and the companions of the Prophet"

keep dreaming my friend...in 1300 years we never had a single Islamic state run and governed by Islamic jurisprudence....all we had were pure kingdoms.....if islam had power to implement itself at state and jurisprudential level, it would have happened by now... no religion has ever done that successfully...Christianity and Judaism tired that for centuries..

and whenever people tried doing that with islam, it was a failed experiment...so i am sorry u have ZEROOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO success story....

even today, iran, pakistan and saudi arabia are 3 countries which claim islam to be source of inspiration and what not and they are struggling big time...all three countries score lowest on diversity, openness, freedom of expression, minorities violation, women rights, and whatnot..their own masses want to run away...and egypt is on its way to disaster cuz of same experiment...minorities in egypt are really distributed.

and which muslim countries are success stories? ..turkey, malaysia and dubai.....do you want me to tell you why?

and yet you have guts to say " I NEED MORE RELIGION" and then you always add " but i need smart religion" ".....what a convenient way to fool masses i must say!!! keep it up....

Re: Mob loots, torches Christian colony in Lahore

I had posed the following question to our director

"What is your definition of secularism? Is being secular equivalent to being anti religious. If you agree, why? If not, why not?"

Her response? That I am beginning to creep her out.

My point being - people in this forum willfully lie about secular people being anti religious. This is Exhibit A.

By no means is this post meant to be disrespectful to the position of Director. I hope such posts are an eye opener to those in high office. I hope they recognize the utter nonsense in such a school of thought - that secular people are anti religious.

To use the words o the Director in response to my question "this post creeps me out".

Best regards.

Re: Mob loots, torches Christian colony in Lahore

LOL...I've already dealt with this red herring in another thread. I could care less for purity. There are principles espoused by Islam, and YOU are suggesting that a mob razing a Christian neighbourhood is congruent to that. Read my post to you again. The context is clear.

Please...no flip flopping. No one upmanship. No sliding arguments. Address that.

I'll ignore the rest of your rant.

Re: Mob loots, torches Christian colony in Lahore

You would kindly refraim from ad homenim attacks. If I am wrong or out of step in what I said, a reasoned response would suffice. Simply labeling someone a liar because you don't agee with them says more about you than the person whom you are attacking.

Rathar than jump on the band wagon, please read the message. Religious minded people have been reduced to animals, mosques being filty houses of hate. And the causation for all of this? Religion. The principles of the faith have been directly accused of being behind the mob violence. This, inspite of condemnation from people here and abroad who are definitely religiously inclined.

I ask you to put ideology aside, and live up to the principles you claim to espouse. Secular people aren't anti-religious? Then show it.

If not, then have a nice day.

Re: Mob loots, torches Christian colony in Lahore

Jesus. Cut it out, Southie, quit being so self-righteous! I said YOU were beginning to creep me out with this exact behaviour i.e. dragging me into discussions that I'm not even aware of. This is like the 3rd time today I've seen you mention me in random posts. THAT's creepy! Maine kub kaha your question was creepy?? I just uploaded a lamba sa response to your questions/accusations but to no avail. This might be your favourite topic, fine, please write essays on it all day long, no one is stopping you from doing that. But quit defining me and what I'm about, I'd appreciate that.

Re: Mob loots, torches Christian colony in Lahore

I have read everything you have said... and let me sum up moral/ideological dilemma of your type:

" I NEED MORE RELIGION..ACTUALLY I NEED A LOT OF RELIGION" and

" WHAT WE HAVE RIGHT NOW IS NOT TRUE FORM OF REGION HENCE ALL THESE PROBLEMS" so

"I NEED "SMART" RELIGION" and

"NO WE NEVER HAD THAT SMART RELIGION IN PRACTICAL FORM EXCEPT 1400 YEARS AGO WE HAD IT FOR 30 YEARS OR SO" but

"HEY LET'S IMPLEMENT THAT 1400 YEARS OLD SMART RELIGION AT STATE LEVEL"

so obviously there are many ifs and buts.....bet hey it will help confuse masses....even better for you guys!

Thx for ignoring my rant... and I'll take it as your approval of my ideology...

have a nice day too!

Re: Mob loots, torches Christian colony in Lahore

Its not about 1400 years ago.

The same Islam today will not tolerate these criminals.

The dilemma is ONLY a small minority use their wrong interpretations and some people go the the extent in using that to bash religion altogether.

What a shame.

Re: Mob loots, torches Christian colony in Lahore

dont jump into everything if you don't know the subject..of course isslam will condemn this brutality but I am talking about implementing islam as source of jurisprudential source and to run the state...which another poster wants

ever heard of these pillars of islam: ijma, qayas and ijtihad?

it is not my fault that we muslims stopped doing ijtihad after imam ghazali .... hence religion never really progressed with social evolution....

allam asad and some other scholars tried doing that in early part of last century but now we simply have way too many sects to do ijmah, qayas and ijtihad in a meaningful way for a state level jurisprudential purpose ...hence capacity of religion is restricted to personal life..

shias by the way still did a better job on this front...but even iran struggling with it.

these are the realities but people will come and make these blanket statements " Yes, we need Caliphs and the companions of the Prophet system"
what can i say..

Re: Mob loots, torches Christian colony in Lahore

^Keep ranting. Very amusing. Any more articles?? :)

We can see even after condemnation by officials and religious leaders as well as charging criminals for their acts, some people want to use this event for their benefit and propaganda.

Re: Mob loots, torches Christian colony in Lahore

dude you are obsessed with me...

i am certainly flattered.............................. but

sorry, i am not the one that you are looking for...

and hey good luck!

Re: Mob loots, torches Christian colony in Lahore

^I know when you have no answer you come up with something like this.

Re: Mob loots, torches Christian colony in Lahore

Sad...:(

Sawan has been arrested for an 'alleged' blasphemy, when would blasphemy be filed against the crowd who have burnt their bibles?

*But James Rehmat, a Christian worker, openly accuses the PML-N government of actually patronising the mob. “Some top leaders of the N-League, including Malik Riaz (local MNA) led the procession. On Friday night, another local PML-N leader came and had banners put up against blasphemy,” he points upwards to freshly put up cloth banners saying ‘The penalty of blasphemy is only beheading’.

“But we don’t see any politicians or other higher ups in this area after this incident although a whole day has passed by. How is it that all these incidents against us happened during the Shahbaz-Nawaz government?”*

Re: Mob loots, torches Christian colony in Lahore

:hehe:

Re: Mob loots, torches Christian colony in Lahore

By the way, Diwana dragged you into one thread. He called my question to you ridiculous. So I clarified the question. This one is all on me. I agree.

I didn't appreciate the choice of the word creeping me out. If you didn't want to answer my question you could and should have used another word.

Self righteous? I will take that over creeping out. The forum is filled with folks who lie about secular folks being anti religious. And all you can say is I am being self righteous.

Anyway, I am done communicating with you. Good day.

Ali lives in land of the fastest pitch in the history of the game not the dust bowl of Qadafi stadium :)
