MMA Resignation Dramas

Re: MMA Resignation Dramas

As I thought - power before “principles” for these MMA hypocrites.

No resignations from Senate, PAs: Hafiz

Deputy parliamentary leader of MMA in the National Assembly Hafiz Hussain Ahmed said that the religious alliance would not resign from the Senate and provincial assemblies until grand opposition alliance is formed. Talking to reporters at the Parliament House cafeteria Friday, he said that all the opposition parties had agreed on a grand alliance formation at a meeting held at the residence of Chaudhry Nisar but Benazir Bhutto opposed the idea.
He pointed out that PPP-P had not taken MMA into confidence on CoD and no trust move against the prime minister but even then the religious alliance supported it. He also criticised PPP for its support to the controversial women bill in the parliament. He said he has not yet received any notice from the JUI-F President over his resignation.

Agencies add: Hafiz Husain Ahmad said, **“We have decided to resign from the National Assembly. We will tender resignations from the Senate and provincial assemblies seats when grand opposition alliance will be formed.” ** He told that no decision has, so far, been taken on formulation of grand alliance between the MMA and ARD. A joint strategy will have to be evolved in this connection, he added. “I have resigned from the National Assembly in the light of decisions taken by the MMA top leadership and Supreme Council”, he informed. I have complied with this decision and now I consider it useless to sit in the assembly”, he asserted. The assembly will stand dissolved when the MMA resigns, he claimed. He also announced that he will contest the forthcoming election against MQM Quaid Altaf Hussain from Karachi.
