Anyone else here noticing the Jays creeping to new heights this season? They’re maintaing the 3rd spot in the American League!
At first it looked more like a run of good fortune and timely purple patches early on, but they’ve still riding the wave. Now the club’s already sweeped series against some of the biggest teams out there, and I’m pretty sure should also be the highest scoring team in the entire league!
They’ve not signed any big names for this year’s campaign, and their payroll has been seriously cut over the last few seasons. They’re chugging along their machine pretty darn well considering it’s just young blood revolving around the nuclues of Delgado, Shannon Stewart, Halladay etc.
Wildcard definitely in the works here. Good luck to the club!
BlueJays have been a real surprise team of the AL EAST this year but I do believe Yankees and Red Sox have better pitching. Jays only have 2 good pitchers and Escobar has 2 very good outings but he is too inconsistent so we do need another quality pitcher in order to contend in the AL EAST.
Blue Jays are 3rd in eastern division of American League.
they are just a game behind Bosox and i think 2 games behind NYY right now.
just incase any of you Jays fan didn't know that, Delgado is leading American league in RBI's and Vernon Wells ( i think :D) is on second.i'm just waiting for Jays to be first in eastern division for the first time in my knowledge. That'll be good to see.
The Jays are definitly having a great year.
I don't remember them playing this well since back in the day when they used to make it into the playoffs every year.
I don't even know how they do it with there poor pitching.
But hey it is great if they can keep it up!
Halladay is a star, and Kelvim Escobar and Lidle are solid as well, but the whole starting rotation is not on par with teams like the Yankees and A's. But whatever the case, the Jays are doing it with young guys and that is admirable
yeah, some younger players were putting up the numbers until recently. Looks like a mini-rut for the birdies now, 3-7 in their last 10 would've hurt more had they not already created a good cushion in may-june.
Let's hope they pick up well and in good time, the next few weeks is a mixed bag in terms of opposition. Don't think we'll get creamed against Boston next, the way the Blankees did over the July 4th weekend. Talk about 'fireworks'. :D
Just a reminder to all pinstripes worshipers....Yankess have not won a world series since 2000. I for one do not see the trend changing. They can spend the most money, have the most overarted players (see Derek Jeter), morons on their team (Roger Clemens) and will go down in ALCS.
Old japanese saying: "Always trust camel smoking other camel on baseball discussion around gupshup. They smarter than Japanese imported ball player to firthy-rich team, who think they frippin chinese."
maybe you will like to ask your elders how to address people? If you do not I am willing to give you a lesson free of charge. If you will like to talk about baseball, we will do that. If you want to make it a mudslinging match, I am game for that too. Now, this is your one and last warning, do not address me as a child, I am probably old enough to be your father. So, next time you see a camel smoking, pay attention and address him/her with respect, he might just be your dad.
