Well the funny thing, sir, is that the camel in ur avatar (the only visible clue in your profile, pictorial or text, hint hint) didn't give off any indication of your possible age.
Now if I could've derived that from someplace, or if we had interacted before from which I could've gathered the same, I would've responded appropriately.
I did, however, assume (wrongly) that you would've taken the comment lightly in good and reciprocal humor considering ur own comment preceding that was very much along the same lines.
But maybe those ciggie packs don't advise you on such things.
Ok now, you do not have to rub it in by calling me "Sir", you can call me kaleem...Ayway, maybe cigs have gotten to me. Dont smoke its bad for your health.
On a serious note, I did mean what I said about Jeter and Clemens. Look no one will argue that Clemens is a great baseball player, however, this does not negate the fact that he acts like a jerk. Also, Jeter'c claim to fame "Mr. October" was one season. His numbers have gone down every year after that. He only gets so much attention because he plays in New York. Alex Rodriguez is a much better ball player than Jeter ever will be.
hey, just respecting ya with the 'sir' salutation there, old timer. ;-)
Clemens is prolly among the top 5 jerks to ever have played in the MLB. Fact. But then so is/was Barry Bonds, Mickey Mantle, Dimaggio and one can keep rewinding. But what matters was they put up the numbers, and although rocket man isn't near what he used to be in his peak, he's still not too shabby imo. He's not a 'saviour' or wonder-boy by any means at the moment though, but he's got the experience to get 'em through tight spots now and then.
I agree completely on Jeter. He's a another story altogether, and by being the beloved son of the Mankees, the New York media will always present him in such light. (The best Yankee in that sense would hafta be O' Neil then.)
A-Rod is worth every cent on that fat contract.
So who do you see roughing it out at the top 3 towards the end in either league?
I agree clemens has unbeliveable numbers, however, having an attitude and being unfriendly with the media is one thing. Clemens is a head hunter. He went after Piazza, he hit him on purpose. On top of that he did not have the balls (pun intended) to face the music. Joe Torre rescued his ass by not having him pitch at the shea stadium. He surely would have faced the "chin music" from the Mets pitchers.
I agree with you on Oneil....class act, respects the game, articulate and well liked.
Anyhow, baseball is just a filler between the football seasons. I just cant wait for NFL season to start and watch my Titans take revenge on the Raiders.
Jays have lost their magic touch. July isn't going nearly as well as june for jays. You can blame poor fielding for that. In every game i've seen this month, almost every guy makes an error which is unacceptable. They are facing bo sox tonight to dodge clean sweep from them. Hope they come out as winners tonight.
btw, jays are 7.0 games behing yankees right now. That's a looooong way to gain.
A-rod is worth every bit of that contract? If he won a chamopinship and hen asked for $250 M then I could understand. absolutely no worth it. He doesn;t have the heart of a champion.
good guesstimates there Kaleem. I'm expecting pretty much the same, but would put an outside chance on Oakland making a big surge somewhwere late.
With the recent surprising extended runs of small Disney teams in professional sports the past couple seasons, all the big boys will have to be on their best behaviour and minimize those skids towards the end. That's when these pesky teams sneak through.
hear ya there man, anything to fill between seasons than the XFL or any type of arena football. These jokers (Vince McMahon et al) should stick to their pansy world wrestling whatevers, and not mess with a real man's sport.
alright so now they've traded Shannon Stewart off?! Have they lost their marbles? So he had his share of injury problems, but was still the club's leadoff hitter and left fielder. You don't just dump someone like that, like that.
That was a bad slump recently but they seemed to have been recovering well. It's begining to look like they've seriously lost interest in pursuing the post-season. Bad move.
