Same in my family. My parents don't like the idea of me marrying an Indian Muslim girl... i don't know why though.

Question or you..K. Why is that Indian Hyderabadis consider themselves more Pakistani than Indian?. One of my friend married a hyderabadi Indian girl. And she considers herself more Pakistani than Indian.

Re: mixed backgrounds
Don’t really know what you mean…In my family’s case my Ammi was born in India the year of partition, my naniyal moved to Khi 2 years later so she was raised in Pakistan. There are a lot of Hydrabadi families like that. But my Indian relatives don’t identify themselves as Pakistani so I’m afraid I don’t have an answer for you ![]()

I have seen support for the pakistani team but then I have also seen some hyderabadis who are more loyal than the king when it comes to indianness. I think part of that might be that indian hyderabadis in the older generation might still be riled for the fact that hyderabad (independent) was taken over by india in 1947. I don't know if that guy got charged but there was this indian muslim from hyderabad who recently said some not so pleasant stuff about hindus.
Re: mixed backgrounds
Interesting…reason why i am saying that coz..Indian Hyderabadis especially are close to Pakistan. May be coz..i have seen so many marriages between these two. But hunh…

This awais guy right?? haha..heard his speech on youtube. He is right though. He only addressed problems which are faced by Indian Muslims over there. So i don't personally what is that he said was wrong.
Re: mixed backgrounds
My fathers Pakistani.
mixed backgrounds
My mum's pakistani but my dad's pakistani Indian.. Like his dad was from India but lived in Pakistan. but yet his (my dad and late dada) race is Indian although he always visited Pakistan/had kids in Pakistan. So well I consider myself Pakistani... Although all 4 grandparents were born in India. They moved to Pak though. Btw dad said has the UP Indian background
