Misuse of the word Jihad [split: Terrorist attack in Gaza, 195 dead]

Why did you add in the bracket with the exception of war?

Can you define war so everyone can understand better your exception?

(I know you will run away again. You are only good for questioning others and not the answering)

How come Al Qaeda wasn't a terrorist group when it was being funded by the American government in the 90s? Funny how friends become enemies in today's world.

Today the BJP, RSS, et al are all considered political parties funded by the people, tomorrow, they will be considered terrorist organizations by the world. This is how the world works. What a wonderful world...

^It doesn't say anything.

Post removed because it's highly provocative and inflaming. Try being a little mature next time. The post will be in review awaiting further action.

Please provide the information about the so called dictionary.

Peace NJ--Thats not the definition. I agree with CM here.:)

Re: Misuse of the word Jihad [split: Terrorist attack in Gaza, 195 dead]

Have we agreed on the definition of jihadi yet?

Oh u know it is . These r not Muslim organizations so I doubt they will ever be labeled "Terrorist".

This reminds me just yesterday I saw a desi guy driving a car & the license plate was BJP Y . Disgusting!

Who should be believed on definition?

Criminals or muslims?

The dictionary says - it's a Holy War

The Wikipedia has a different meaning: The one CM provided (I had not checked the Wiki - so yes CM - you are right TOO) =)

Both definition do not lead to the same meaning. That's all I have to say.

Re: Misuse of the word Jihad [split: Terrorist attack in Gaza, 195 dead]

^The dictionary?

Did you read an english dictionary? or Arabic. Which dictionary?
The word is arabic. Even Wiki means nothing if it matters finding out the meaning of an arabic word.
Anyhow you do have agreed on the concept.

Peace.

Punjabee Bhai!

When you complete the research , please enlightened with the answer............

By all means, please do not prove me right that you are not good on answering/explaining after making statements!!:)

I read only English dictionary. That's what all non-Arabic readers and non-Muslims would read too.

Even if the word is Arabic - the translation of the meaning of the word should be the same.

Re: Misuse of the word Jihad [split: Terrorist attack in Gaza, 195 dead]

^No its not.

Jihad is an Arabic word and Arabic to English seems somewhat logical. Arabic to Arabic is ideal for those who know Arabic.

It doesn't matter who reads what one is entitled to one's own search and beliefs. The meaning will remain same as accepted in Arabic.

People want to believe criminals and thugs so what can muslims do about it?

Re: Misuse of the word Jihad [split: Terrorist attack in Gaza, 195 dead]

^exactly my point.

In the west, media mostly refers to the word Jihad, to Muslims who are criminal minded or thugs... but that's not where they stop. They say ALL Muslims in the same breath.
