The word Jihadi has become non-coherent in the Muslim world now.
For the Non-Muslims like you - the word Jihadi is simply a way, a short cut way, to express you do not like Muslims - without going into details. So to you, all Muslims are Jihadi’s, or are associated with the Jihadi organization.
The word Jihadi - in today’s time has no meaning. The new word Jihadi is derived by non-muslims for political reasons. It has nothing to do with religion.
It is the Islamic militants/extremists/terrorists that have hijacked the term 'jihad'. They are the ones who commit acts of violence and call it jihad. Don't blame non Muslms for the modern meaning of the term, they are only calling these people what they call themselves.

I agree with you on that, Muslims who are opponents of using term "jihad" for every Tom Dick Harry's operation must condemn, though not violently but on level of 'protest against cartoons'.
Both Israel and Hamas must abide by any truce, whoever violates the truce should be condemned and called terrorist IMO.
^ you can believe whatever your little heart desires.
"Happy believing!" =)
As I said before, the new word Jihadi is used by non-Muslims for politically alienating Muslims for their own benefits.
Again - "happy believing" in whatever your little heart desires.
Peace!
I am just telling you the modern understanding of the word JIHAD. The blame for any change of its meaning (from struggle to terror) lies with your naughty Islamic Terrorist cousins and not the Infidels.
Re: Misuse of the word Jihad [split: Terrorist attack in Gaza, 195 dead]
True, the actual term has been hijacked. And now whenever you hear the word Jihad, the only thing that comes into mind is War, even among muslims. However, there is a need to understand Jihad in its essence means struggle, which has a wide spectrum. Self-Discipline is the first and foremost kind of Jihad, that is to discipline oneself to be a good muslim first before embarking on preaching the message to others. In most instances the War aspect of Jihad should be reserved as a last resort, and splinter groups are not to take up arms on their own with each individual believing in his/her cause.
It's a pity that a term that has a noble and infact very logical meaning is more than often associated with Violence. Not all of it is fault of the non-muslims, some blame, correction more than some blame does lie on muslims themselves as well. But then again it differs from person to person, and everyone has their own opinion on its application.
A proper application of Jihad is needed by the muslims, and a proper understanding of what Jihad actually is should be adopted by the Media so it can infact counter those who are wrong, with correct logic. This way the media (no matter who the source) will have support of muslims, and can effectively address the problem w/out being lableled anti-islam, and so on.

^^
You have clearly outlined what the term actually means. Why should I be begging for mercy when the real Jihad hits me if it is not a terrorist organisation.
I suggst bth muslims as well as non muslims here to plz watch a lecture on Terrorism n Jihad by Dr Zakir Naik ......im sure it wil clear all ur doubt .
Re: Misuse of the word Jihad [split: Terrorist attack in Gaza, 195 dead]
Actually I am undertaking Jihad in Darfur. I am helping in building schools, water sources and providing medical treatment to IDPs, refugees and the host communities.
By the Islamic definition of Jihad, I am struggling to make life better for my fellow muslims.
Re: Misuse of the word Jihad [split: Terrorist attack in Gaza, 195 dead]
Jihad can be a lot of things that are not related to violence, but in common usage refer to violent groups, as these violent groups themselves call themselves jihadi.
And NJ masti, you take a big leap by referring to me as a non muslim.
Re: Misuse of the word Jihad [split: Terrorist attack in Gaza, 195 dead]
Actually lets be correct. Only in the past 6 years has the term Jihad been used by select politically motivated individuals and organizations to define violent movements.
