Why doesnt Pakistan enter Miss World, almiost every other nation on Earth does-and it seems surprising that we dont. Turkey, Bangladesh and other muslim nations do (I can swear I saw Morocco in one contest) so we can hardly say “no muslim does”.
It would be a great honor for the nation if it was to win. 
There has to be a few good looking Pakistani women who are not kept in the kitchen and in a Burka.

Walk down the street and you will see teenage girls and ladies dressed in western clothes.

Once upon a time a Pakistani model girl named Anita Ayub in the late eighties wanted to compete in a fashion show to be held in Paris. Mullahs of Pakistan threatened her of dire consequences. That lady left the country in fear of her life, she either never returned or retuned in disguise wearing 'Hijab' or 'Burqa' and perhaps changed her name.

Why ever not? What's wrong with a Miss World contestant from Pakistan? Literacy is another issue altogether. If Paki swimmers can wear Aquaskins from head to toe and compete internationally, why can't there be some type of concession for Miss World contestants in the swimsuit category. I'm sure the organizers and world would love to see beautiful women from Pakistan compete, and would gladly make any changes to their program to accomodate religious aspects for Muslim contestants. Nothing wrong with that. If you are beautiful, share it. What's the point covering yourself up and look like a goblin slinking around? Beauty increases a woman's self-confidence. Need confident women in the world if we want any progress.
I cannot understand most of the posts in this thread. Are we talking about the same Pakistan that I read about in the newspapers? This is the same place where women have to face honour killings and sons and husbands kill the women folks for the sake of "Ghairat"? Get real, please.

Mo- I think the reason Pakistani girls don’t compete in Miss World is the same reason why Pakistani boys don’t participate in Dope smoking festival in Amsterdam every August. Cultural reasons, my friend. However, I think people should be allowed to make that decision for themselves. In any case, Miss World Title is a privately organized contest, and it is not the Governments that select who competes. If it were left to Musharraf (or the politicians) they will probably send Benazir to Miss World competition. You don't wana do that.
