Re: Miss Shaheen Ki Maar (At) Al-Murtaza School (Karachi)
teacher is not angry, she is frustrated. urdu teacher in any mediocre considered skool in pakistan are greatly trapped in their other/gheralo maslay masail. whereas if u do a close look at the time, it seemz like a middday, or past midday. this time of the day is hectic for everyone.
so ppl dont make fun of the teacher. i heard of the hadith (PBUH) that "where ever u beaten by ur teacher, those parts will go to heaven".
whereas english is learnt n then taught by women who thinks they are sophisticated, intellectual. their way of beating is also different :biggthumb
i am sure we all know angerzai is considered symbol of higher status everywhere in the world.
p.s. i am sure this student will regret his behavior later in his life.
Urdu teachers for whatever reasons seem to more depressed. Maybe it's because they feel that no one takes Urdu seriously, and it's just one of those subject students have to take. All the emphasis is on English, science and math, Urdu is just left on the side.
And you are right about midday. Right after lunch time (12 or so), it gets really hot, and with no ACs to cool down, it gets hard to concentrate and work.
Re: Miss Shaheen Ki Maar (At) Al-Murtaza School (Karachi)
those calling it torture havn’t seen nothin. teachers in government schools in villages and in smaller towns beat up kids like animals. Hitting a kid on the hand with a stick with all their might is quite normal but then you get cases where the teacher goes a few extra yards. One of the teachers once threw a brick at a student in my school.
My grade six teacher would make the student a murgha and then hold their neck and start hitting them on their knees and elbows and any other bone he could reach which hurt like crazy especially during witner.
i was usually a gud student but once in a while i got a beating too. One time when i was in grade 3, i didn’t do my homework for the summer vacations. When the teacher was checking it, we had to hand him the notebook and he would just glance at a few pages and pass it back to us. I tried to trick em by showing him some old work in my notebook. Well he caught it and the result wasn’t pretty. He held my neck in his knees and started hittin me with a stick. He kept at it until the stick broke in two and then he took the longer of the two parts and continued.
I din’t tell my parents but my younger bro told em. My dad checked my back and sure enough it was all neeli-peeli. Next day he went to the school and swore at the teacher and told em not to hit me again. Well thank goodness he never hit me again after that.
and about it being customary for teacher to hit students, well it becomes engraved in the students mind from an early age that they have to work to avoid being beaten up and not because it is good for them and is the only way to learn. so they will only work if there is a risk of punishment. they will not work as hard in a teacher’s class who doesn’t punish very harshly.
