I clearly remember one of my urdu teacher and another sindhi teacher had habit of slapping right on the face. It was most horrific.

I had a really old parsi teacher Mrs Akbar (may her soul rest in peace) back in class 3. Her method of torture was to hold a kid’s upper lip with her right hand and lower lip with her left hand and then twist em around.

once i was late to school, n they didnt let us enter kion k gate adha bandh tha 
we had to stand outside…and my friends made fun of me…it was i gues supposed to b humiliating :s

I don't normally respond to such posts, but I can see why sister Sidra54 says it looks fake.
It is not the 'maar' that is fake, it is the anger behind it. Teachers in Pakistan I think feel they have to hit the children like a rawaaj. Even if they don't want to hit they will do it. It seems Miss Shaheen is forcing herself to hit the boy to conform to this rawaaj of beating.
My cousin used to be a teacher in Pakistan and she used to beat the kids for no apparent reason. I looked shocked and she dismissed my sentiments saying that the kids expect to be hit and other forms of justification. There was no shred of guilt in her face.
It is true the kids in Pakistan expect beats and some may actually thrive of them, the teachers are not dishing out hate from family induced gussa either I think. Rather I think that teachers enjoy a good beating and do so without thinking. That is why it looks fake! Dear I say it, it looks as if both the boy and the teacher are enjoying. The rest of the class are too!

teacher is not angry, she is frustrated. urdu teacher in any mediocre considered skool in pakistan are greatly trapped in their other/gheralo maslay masail. whereas if u do a close look at the time, it seemz like a middday, or past midday. this time of the day is hectic for everyone.
so ppl dont make fun of the teacher. i heard of the hadith (PBUH) that "where ever u beaten by ur teacher, those parts will go to heaven".
whereas english is learnt n then taught by women who thinks they are sophisticated, intellectual. their way of beating is also different :biggthumb
i am sure we all know angerzai is considered symbol of higher status everywhere in the world.
p.s. i am sure this student will regret his behavior later in his life.

Forget about junior schools man, I remember this Economics teacher in Govt. Commerce College in Karachi, don't remember the name but his nick name was Jadoogar. He used to roll up bunches of paper and hit guys, right there in class. Never saw him hitting a girl tho, so I guess that's good :)
