Ladies, if you had the chance to be Miss Pakistan, would you? If yes, why? What would you hope to achieve by it? If no, why not?
Just curious about the Pakistani public’s opinion on this.

Re: Miss Pakistan
They will become like her (or worse)
Re: Miss Pakistan
They’re gonna become like Miss Pakistan? Well, that’s the point. Not sure what that means. Care to elaborate?
Re: Miss Pakistan
No, because:
So no.
Re: Miss Pakistan
Le yes
Re: Miss Pakistan
Respect to you for your modesty. But one thing I disagree with - they don’t get sponsors by default, they actually have to go find them themselves through their own hard work. The agency doesn’t do anything at all. Traditionally, this may be true with other pageants, but I have it on good authority that the Miss Pakistan agency doesn’t pay a single penny for anything. So when it comes to helping deter stereotypes, build charities and other acts of good faith, it falls completely on the pageant herself.
From an Islamic perspective, I disagree with the whole idea completely, however, I’ve seen some good things come out of it as well (although not encouraging it).
Re: Miss Pakistan
I don’t know about the Miss Pakistan agency. But I have followed some Miss Pageants (some other countries) backstage, and there wasnt really any hard work involved. Sponsors, charities, Miss-tasks; everything is pretty much taken care of.
Re: Miss Pakistan
Yeah traditionally that’s what it should be like. But go figure, of course it’s going to be the Pakistanis that are gonna be kanjoos about it… sigh.
Re: Miss Pakistan
So you want a bunch of men to oogle women based on their bodies and whatever airhead idea works best for beauty pageants? Yeah I am one of those guys who considers Miss World or Miss Universe outdated. Women should not be objectified.
Re: Miss Pakistan
sure, they call it wedding day.
Re: Miss Pakistan
rofl
Re: Miss Pakistan
please do elaborate…
I’m curious.
Re: Miss Pakistan
Never lose sight of the influence celebrities can have on people. One of the Miss Pakistan pageants along with Miss Israel got along pretty well during one of their world tours. In fact, so well that she (Miss Israel) even admitted that she was taught to hate Muslims, and that in their community, it was also expected. After their meeting, she was so impressed that she promised when she got back to Israel, she’d begin speaking out against the stereotype and help deter the ill feelings the Israeli people have toward Muslims and Pakistanis.
Again, I’m just choosing to look at things from the positive side. Let me reiterate that I don’t accept the idea overall.

Shukar hai that Israeli lady didn’t bump into Veena Malik ![]()
