s1. You're basing that on the "widely accepted fashion" stereotype. There have been many terrible humans who were NOT muslims. So what name should we have for them? We must sift through the filth and present the truth as it is. Terrorism is not a religious monopoly, rather a human illness that many suffer from and as a result make others suffer with it. Period! You can fancy it up, and find a million ways to rephrase it but it just boils down to the very simple factor that it is Humans who commit acts of evil. So each individual is accountable for his/her own affair.
- Islam does not oppress women. Islam elevates women to their rightful status in both home and outside, and gives them due rights. Just because Islam's right for women do not happen to be the same as the Western nations, does not at all mean women are subjugated in Islam. Where there are acts of suppression, it is due to the lack of education and unislamic mentality. Not Islam.
It was Islam that abrogated the burying of young daughters alive in the "dark ages". Some religions still practice the inhumane practice of burning women as a matter of honor. Islam allows no such thing. Islam means "submission to One God". Please don't interfuse political complications and make it religious. That is just as dumb a statement as saying "why do atheists hate religion so much".
History has shown that while Europe lay wasted in dark ages, it was Islam that was the progressive force of the time and it is Muslims who contributed to scholarly center of Baghdad, Damascus, and Spain that attracted students from all over the world. Arabia was the hub of trade going westward, and Spain became the educational center for Christians who were oppressed by the tyrannical rule of Church which would prohibit the study of science. Millions have turned to Islam and continue to turn to Islam as the sole source of truth even today, so what siege is making them convert under threat? Which army invaded far corners of Russia and Indonesia and made them muslim? If Islam was spread by the sword and entire populations were made muslim at the point of a sword, there would be no non-muslims left wherever Islam spread. The bitter truth for many who spread such bias and lies is that many non-muslims have always been present even while Islam spread all around them. India is a prime example where Hinduism is a major religion, as well as Spain and part of Middle East (Hub of Islam?), yet there are christians whose ancestors were christians and have not converted to Islam. Muslims have been subject to torture, violence, and slaughter alongside other innocent believers of Christianity and Judaism at the hands of crusaders.
Please learn your history and facts from an actual source before riding on anti-Islam statements often found on the internet and biased media. There's a whole new world out there that is full of truth, please seek it and learn the truth.
