Oh Cmon, we have seen Misbah batting before and yesterday. He is quite capable of nudging the ball around for singles. No one is saying that he should have jumped out of his crease and wack the ball around, but, we expected him to rotate the strike. He didnt do it. He didnt take single one one was on. He did not run the second when it could be taken. He was behaving like Gavaskar in 1975 world cup, playing for a draw.
I am by no means suggesting that he fixed the match but the way he played was preposterous. He was like Miandad in his last days. Miandad used to keep playing dot balls till required rate will reach 8 and we are 5 or 6 wickets down, then come down the track to an pffspinner and hold out at mid wicket. Difference was that Misbah didnt get out. Young guys like Asad and Akmal played better than him, they rotated strike.
Also not taking powerplay is unpardonable. But i dunno if its the captain who has to signal it or the senior batsman on the pitch who does that. It should have been taken by 40-41st over.
maybe he should have got out playing brainless shot and Pakistan would have lost by a margin of over 70 odd runs. at least he tried if only someone had stayed with him. Yes he is a slow player but he lets other play around him while he holds one end. Did the collapse allow him to play any faster yesterday, apart from him , Hafeez and to some extent Umar Akmal the rest of the batting was pathetic.

Misbah undermined the efforts of others when they tried. Umer Akmal scored a boundary and rotated the strike to him and he played 4 dot balls ruining all the efforts. Afridi made him make runs for which he was not willing to run. The pressure created by his test-match inning got to everyone else and they started departing trying to absorb the pressure. Being a slow player is not an issue. He has been great in the past doing exactly that but he was never stuck at one end. Yesterday, he looked totally different than his usual self under pressure. He could not rotate the strike. Whatever was done on the field was still manageable given the runs Pakistan was supposed to chase. The point where Pakistan could seal it despite a bad day on the field, Misbah took on himself to make sure it would not happen.
Cant u think rational??? Player A was wasting balls and putting pressure on other players, only playing dot balls (jo pitch k under rahay), was not putting effort, not taking runs, once they were confirm that we were gonna loose then they start hitting 4's... Does it even make sense to u? He was at the pitch for 25overs...
Let's not forget Misbah's contribution in previous World Cup matches and even the recent ODI and Test series. He really is an anchor of our batting.
No body is forgetting that. I have been his fan all along. Those contribution can never be an excuse for his dismal performance yesterday. We are talking about what he did in semi final, not what he did before it.

Please do not conclude that he took money for that. At best he performed bad under pressure. He should be kept for tests only.
Pak has beaten Sri Lanka and Australia too... We are professional players, not lalu panju gali players .. How can they miss 4 catches woh bhe Afridi ki bowling per... ?

such a short term memory we have as a nation... here we were in February or so debating whether Misbah should be the ODI captain instead of Afridi since he had shown his calibre in the recent ODI series... and we were all appreciating his innings in the group games - esp. against SL.
Now, one game with a semi-bad performance (still, I maintain others were more at fault than him), and everyone wants his head.

At least, I am not for his head. He did not rotate strike in 42 balls. That's 7 overs. He could have taken at least 30 singles.
At this stage, IMO, he should not be retained in the team. He is already touching 37 and it is very unlikely that he will play the next world cup. It's time to re-organize and work on people who are more likely to play WC in 2015. Same is true for Younis

If Misbah took upon himself to make sure it would not happen the rest of batsmen gave him a big helping hand by throwing away their wickets. You still haven't answered my question why didnt Afridi take the power play when him and razzaq were batting with Misbah. Maybe Afridi took upon himself to make sure victory didnt happen? Do I believe this, no, I believe it was a collective failure and everyone was equally repsonsible. If Misbah had a bad day Umar gul had a worse one, so why not talk about him? He gave away 69 odd runs and Pak lost by 29 runs. What do you say.

I have already agreed to that in post number 19 second para.
Misbah did not have a good day. He was struggling with timings, placements and pace of the innings. So was Younis. I guess they could not handle the pressure alongwith Gul.
But it certainly does NOT mean that he did it intentionally. We as a nation HAVE to get over the tendency to find the scapegoat after every defeat. And that too happens within seconds of a defeat. ke yeh match tu akmal ki wajah se haare hayn, yeh misbah ki wajah se haare hain. bla bla
