I would’ve taken a bold step and made Azhar Ali the new skipper … No Misbah, No Hafeez, No Afridi, No Younis, No Gul etc. … but then i’m not in PPP nor relativ of any Minister
^^ wow Azhar..well it would have been really a bold one...but I don't think you need to ruin Azhar's career by making him captain. Give him another 5 and then make him captain. Right now he need to fully take the middle order sheet anchor role in ODIs.
And for now Hafeez is the right choice. He is not a dimwit nor is he too aggressive, a very balanced athlete...good fielder, good bowler and reasonable opener. However he should demote himself to 1 down in ODIs if he does become captain and let Jamshed open with Ahmed or another.
Now all formats....Hafeez is not good for Tests. Misbah would be a better choice for Test untill Azhar is ready.

I tried to put all captains. Why not compare with Wasim Akram? He was a legendary bowler but not a legendary captain we all know that, unless you have some information which is hidden from rest of the world.

In fact whenever the name of afridi is mentioned in Aus and SA dressing room they all start shivering with fear. The Aussies also paid afridi to run away from the test series and resign as captain and leave his team and country in lurch because they feared him so much.

Honestly this analysis is a bit light and plz Kaptan..no offense intended. Let me explain why. We need to qualify or weigh each captains win loss ratio against two things. First the playing 11 they represented, second the no. of games they captained the side. In that case Inzi, Wasim, Waqar, Imran are all from an era of GREAT fast bowling and heavy hitting very very steady middle order batting. Imran was at helm of one the greatest Pakistani sides ever. Wasim and Waqar also used to lead very strong sides, if not their own presence was a sign of fear for the opposition, they alone could turn games upside down. Inzimam, same case, great fast bowling and he and later Moyo and YK were steady foundation blocks. Even Shoaib still had Akhtar, and later asif to the addition.
Now Misbah, and Afiridi are the only ones who captained when bowling was weak or reasonable and batting become also fragile. Hence Misbah's win loss ratio in all honesty even though he has lost key games and easily became the scapegoat due to his own batting sometimes, seems to be the best overall since he did not have the bowling of Asif or Aamer.
He only has Ajmal now as a great strike bowler.
Second aspect is no. of games they captained the side to make sure sample size is comparable. Hence let me choose 50 and 30 as break points. Again Inzi, Wasim, Waqar and Imran are all in one league.
Then follow Misbah, Afridi and Malik, finally Younis simply was not given a long enough chance or in fact he threw in the towel too early, impatiently.
Then within Misbah , Afiridi and Malik can be compared.
So perhaps with both weights assigned, I am now second guessing my own judgement that he (misbah) should be sidelined. His fault maybe that he is not responding to Whatmore's aggressive input and whatmore has written to PCB. Lets see. This small time internet sports site could be a Hafeez supporter.

I agree with you even in Mohali after afridi had taken 7 wickets and scored a trail blazing 75 off 10 balls Misbah came and ruined it. afridi never ever fails with bat or ball, never, he never makes a mistake and under his captaincy we never ever lost a match. Never. All the stats are wrong and cricinfo being and Indian site always tries and ruins afridi's reputation. It was so easy for him against the Aussies that he resigned out of boredom in the middle of the series.
