Misbah to be sidelined and ....

Re: Misbah to be sidelined and ....

Its about time to phase him out of ODI.

Teams around the world are including more fresh legs in limited over cricket. There is nothing wrong in having separate teams and captains for different formats. This should not hurt anyone's ego.

Misbah can keep on leading Pakistan in Tests though and Hafeez can lead ODI and T20. Misbah used to be good ODI player 2-3 years a go but lately....aaah, I do not think so.

Re: Misbah to be sidelined and ....

^^ Agree, phase out is fine so long as its for freshness. Hafeez can't lead a test side, he himself does not meet full test standards of batting. It would be like Malik was appointed by cheemi ashraf. So Misbah for tests and Hafeez for ODI/T20. that'll work.

Re: Misbah to be sidelined and ....

Number of Test matches Misbah 36, average 45, 3 100s,** 17 50s*.
Number of Test matches Afridi 27, average
* 36*, 5 100s, **8 50s* ..... hehehehe

Re: Misbah to be sidelined and ....

So Sri Lanka has always ranked lower than us?

Re: Misbah to be sidelined and ....

Right decision imo esp. as Misbah is unlikely to lead Pakistan in 2015 World Cup in Australia and New Zealand. He will be 40 then!!

Re: Misbah to be sidelined and ....

How many MOM have misbah got in his entire career?

Can u guess it ?

Re: Misbah to be sidelined and ....

Captains job is to drive the team, utilize the resources available, there is no 'MoM' award for doing that, the only prize they get is 'W/L' :)

Re: Misbah to be sidelined and ....

Wow thats something new

Yes the captain shouldnt score nothing and just drive the team just like Misbah.......Its cz his tuk tuk doesnt allow him to score just forget about driving the team

10 of his victories have been against Zimbabwe Ireland and Bangladesh

Others are against lower ranked teams

What a captain better than Imran khan

Re: Misbah to be sidelined and ....

Again, you are forgetting Sri Lanka. If he does score "nothing" then how come he averages so much better than so called Asian-Bradman and so many other batsmen of our team? If that is scoring 'nothing' then I wonder what will he achieve when he 'scores'?

Re: Misbah to be sidelined and …

Asian bradman :rotfl:

Here im posting some stats again for you

Number of TEST matches - Misbah 36. Afridi 27. Number of TEST centuries - Misbah 3. Afridi 5. hehehe.

Re: Misbah to be sidelined and ....

misbah should not be ODI captain anymore but we desperately need him in ODI middle order because we have the most most most pathetic batting lineup.... any given day and time, i would take misbah's 45 runs on 68 balls than afridi's 25 runs on 10 balls! those 45 runs are usually pretty valuable when being looked at in an overall context of the given match.....as a skipper mibah is a bit too conservative with his field placings and overall strategy, so lets have a new captain.

You can apply same logic to test matches as well....

in a nutshell, give misbah 2 more year - both in ODIs and test matches - as a player, we need him badly and if we dont have a test match skipper, misbah can continue...

Afridi......less is more!

Re: Misbah to be sidelined and ....

Bring Misbah back.

Re: Misbah to be sidelined and …

okay, so when you want the thread is about “ODI only” and when you desire you can throw in stats about Tests. Here, I’ll give you more heart burn:

36 Tests Misbah averages 45.68, 3 centuries, 17 50s, total of 2284 runs.
27 Tests Shahid averages 36.51, 5 centuries, 8 50s, total of **1716 **runs.

That shows someone scores more consistently than someone scoring a century in one game and below 10-20 in next 5-6 innings. If there was a ‘consistency’ indicator Misbah would’ve somewhere around 70 while Shahid Afridi would get ~50.

Re: Misbah to be sidelined and ....

Of course Afridi has played less matches thats why he averages less than Misbah who has played more matches.....And then again he retired from Tests cz he felt he was a burden on Test team cz it doesnt suits to his style of cricket unless Misbah who was forced to take retirement from T20 and still playing in the ODI and is a huge burden on ODI team right now

Re: Misbah to be sidelined and …

:rotfl: that summarizes understanding of cricket of Afridi fan-boys.

Re: Misbah to be sidelined and …

I knew u would say that then again Comparing Misbah with Asian Bradman summarizes ur cricketing knowledge :rotfl:

Re: Misbah to be sidelined and …

so how much does Asian Bradman average/score? BTW, I was not referring to real Asian Bradman, but the fake Bradman we have now around

Hafeez will be tested in the coming ICC T20 WC, let's see how he performs. Fact is we can't find a player in the team who is a captain material or shows any potential. Until than it's better to stick with Misbah in order to avoid player politics.

Re: Misbah to be sidelined and ....

Fake Bradman= Misbah

Re: Misbah to be sidelined and …

again, comprehension issue :D… forget all that, I give winning trophy to Afridi and fan-boys, Afridi for Presidency :dhimpak:
